I say correct. Check the part number tag on the bottom of the can. The parts book will back it up

    105888
    105887

Ferrari classiche only wants $20K for that system.

Thanks Paul. I got docked by Dick Fritz because he said that the tips stick out to far. They do go well past the bumper so I plan on cutting the pipe down to get them aligned with the bumper. He also said that the cans need to silver not black. Thoughts? Any pics of the hold down strap?

Fairly certain this is a correct 365 BB exhaust:

Did you buy it from the factory? The cans are black in the pic so could that be the correct color?

It is an ANSA exhaust for a 365 BB. I have been told the black can is correct.

I wonder if the original exhaust had polished stainless tips as your Ansa system has or chrome sleeved over laid tips like in my pictures. On most 365 BB's the original exhausts have rotted out and changed so unless some one has period pictures it will be hard to determine.

The muffler cans look correct right down to the welded on part number tags - check the numbers. Ansa mufflers are black wrinkle typically, not just black.

Gene: The ends on your car are correct. They are a poorly chromed tip with the crude welding as shown in your photo. 18587 has the original system still on it (I welded up LOTS of holes). It appears to have been originally painted more of a gray than a silver. Definitely not a bright silver, though it was used when I bought the car. With age and usage, the system had taken on a metallic gray color. When I repaired them, I painted the system in HI-Temp black, because, like you, it just never occurred to me that it was actually not black originally. Luckily I still have some photos.

Paul any idea why my tips stick out past the bumper by about 4 inches if the exhaust is original? Or can it be like that from the factory and Mr. Fritz is wrong?

Just a thought but what if the mufflers were on a car that was DOT converted in the past and it had the additional bumper depth? Need longer tips to clear the thicker bumper? Looks like you could retract those tips back and re-weld where you wanted. Would need to rechrome them but at least you have the right exhaust.

as I remember the endpipes are parallel to the street, not in an angle as your pictures shows it?

Yes, the pipes are parallel to the street. The bumper is not strait but curved.
