Currently in a slight predicament, considering to sell our tr for an F430 spider.
It's an 85, with 60 000km. Red with cream interior.

Do you reckon it's worth selling?

Only you can answer that, do you want a F430 S more than the TR?

The 430 can be less maintenance cost and newer drive feel. But its your dime, spend it how you like.

I can't wait 10yrs from now when all these 430s/458s have to replace Carbon fiber brakes every 10,000 miles. Let's not even discuss the cpu and Christmas tree lights that show up and need a scanner.
The TR service will look like a bargain
Keep the TR - it's the last affordable 12 rear banger that Enzo Ferrari himself made.

    My useless opinion:

The 430 is miles ahead in terms of performance and maintenance.

The TR is not only a classic but an iconic & legendary Ferrari.

I haven't driven either one so I can't comment on the experience but I highly recommend you drive the 430 before deciding for it. I would also save up for the 458 if you really are tired of the TR and want a change. Or maybe a 599 :)

The last 3 post are in line with my thinking also. NOTHING will replace a Testarossa.

They are unique but actually EVERYTHING will replace a Testarossa. If you're up for a change an F430 Spider is a great car. With nearly 500 hp, it is very quick - borderline too quick for actual street driving - and can still hold its own against all but the fastest cars today. I thought about getting a 458 but there is no way to really get anywhere near the most of that car on the street and I'm much to cheap to wring my own Ferrari on the track. That's what those racing experience cars are for. Life is short, too short, to not to try other things.

I have both. You can't compare them. Have you driven a 430 yet? Best advice I can give you is to drive them both and decide which one YOU like. I can tell you somedays I prefer the TR and somedays I prefer the 430. But they are very different. Do you prefer the feeling of a more analog car where you have to actually drive the car and put some muscle into it from time to time? Or do you prefer a more modern car that is very fast and yet somewhat comfortable with an actual working AC and creature comfort? It's really up to you and what you enjoy...

If you want to go fast. Not worry about a belt snapping and haveing a/c that works, and a car that doesn't drive like an old truck..then get the 430. If you like the old school (like I do) then stick with the tr. They don't build them like that anymore (thank god which is part of the charm).

The 430 is awesome is what I'm trying to say.

Same here, have the TR and a 430 Spider. I think you will be happy owning both.

It's the best of both worlds in my opinion, and you can buy a 430 with steel brakes if carbon isn't your thing.

I love the driver feeling going between analog and digital, and the sounds from each car is delightfully different.

I have a 88 T/R and a 360 not a 430 but the same idea. No doubt keep the TR. The T/R will continue to go up in value and you can get a 430 for a long time at the $ that they are at now, maybe less. I think they will bottom near where the 360 has. A Testarossa will always be an icon, not so for the newer mid engine V8s. IMHO.

Do you want to Drive a sports car or do you want to operate a computer game boy on wheels? Not comprable.
The TR takes Old School driving skills: armstrong steering; rev matching shifting; controlled braking, acceleration, cornering. Can get home with duct tape and coathanger bandaids.
The 430 lets you get in, point it and press the gas, IF the CPU's are in alignment. Wonderful machine, but it controls the drive, not you. But we can pretend that we have all of the skills that the car povides cor us. It helps to pray to the CPU Gods upon entering!
    Have Fun...

I've had both.... 430 is a much better driver's car. TR is more of an investment.

Keep the TR and buy a 2014+ Stingray. Sorry guys, I rented one for a couple days on vacation in Florida. Im ruined, and its on the buy list. Im not selling the TR, but that car is a home run and a no brainer for low $50's used.
