512TR, Sticky Refinishing

Hello Folks,

So this past week we received 2 sets of 512TR parts to be refinished, one of the cars is a euro car.

We will post some photos here. He is the first part we refinished from the non-euro car - it's the gauge trim.

The before photo is pretty boring as this one came to us as bare plastic as the sticky coating had been wiped off. But, we did fill some mold dimples and such.

Hello Guys,

Here are a couple 512 TR center console pieces. These parts are a lot of work. We take them down to bare plastic and remove the old overlays. Both of these need some repairs so we are getting that underway on Monday. Once repaired these will be ready for first coat. Typically on parts like these that have some little dings and scratches, we would prime first but because of some detail for the heater controls, we don't want to lose that with a heavy build of primer so some spot filler was used instead.

These will get a few coats of our top coating and then they will receive new overlays and we will be painting the heater details (little raised arrows) white per the factory.

Hello Folks,

Here are a few pieces of a 512 TR Euro car completed. The door handles and center console are fully disassembled prior to refinishing. When refinishing the center console, we replace all 3 overlays with new ones.

So we finished up another 512 TR set of parts. The center console on this one was broken in a few places. The owner also wanted the after market switch and LED removed so we did that and filled the panel in so it would be as original. All new overlays on this as well.

Here is another 512 TR part we finished today - this is the radio surround. I don't believe this part gets sticky. The owner sent this in as he wanted it to match his other parts and it have a very heavy textured paint on it and it also needed repair.
