$308k all in. Car had some needs and looked like it had been sitting / had some improper storage. Didn't look like the pics suggest. Could be a nice car with some TLC.
TLC = Tender Loving Care. Usually said when something is in need of cosmetic or mechanical work or both. A needy car, not nearly perfect. As usual, someone just bought an odometer reading.
This very same car was also a no-sale just this past March at Bonhams Amelia Island. Who showed/entered it both at Cavallino XXV this past January, and the August 2015 FCA International Meet in Monterey?
Yes, I would question the fresh service as it did not appear to be a tidy engine compartment. I would budget an engine out with some mechanical issues commensurate with a car that's been sitting unused. AC had not been changed over from R12. Suspension also appeared to need redo.
R12 freon is still available, I bought 5 cans on the internet. I just charged my Boxer with it last week and it now blows icy cold air. It is not cheap at $40/ 12 oz. can, but worth the cold air in a boxer.
Good day dwhite, Are you sure it is R12? Could it be R12A, FR12, etc by chance? I ask, as R12A, etc should be used with caution, as it contains flammable gas (butane I think)... this is not a good thing if you spring a leak near any sources of ignition... or if you use conventional tools to look for leaks (hand held torch with a pickup tube). I believe R-12 was universally banned in the mid 90's and so the finding real R12 nowadays would be pretty tough and thus pretty expensive. Cheers, Sam
