Hello, I am looking for european hella OEM original fog lamps or lenses for my 512TR, they are NLA and I was told by Scuderia Systems in the UK that they are going to be back in production soon. Does anyone have a source to get these ? I have posted in a separate section on the forum without any response. Thank you in advance and happy motoring
I've been warned by a previous 512TR owner that it is near impossible to find these fog lights. It would be really great if someone is going to produce them again. I was already wondering why this had not already been done given the prices that people are willing to pay for the lens.
Yeah... these suckers feel fragile like fine China when you hold them... I would do a google search..." Parting out a Ferrari 512 TR " http://search.aol.com/aol/search?enabled_terms=&s_it=client97_searchbox&q=wrecked+ferrari+512TR
I have contacted them before posting this and several other vendors, they no longer have them in stock.
It says "house for the lenses" so definitively NO lights as requested. Once again: these lights ar no more available; preserve yours with XPEL asap!
Costs only some Dollars and saves you a LOT of troubles and maybe thousands of Dollars Photos 3 & 4 show you the very DIFFERENCE between USA and EU versions ... Beware what you buy ... I had a wrong set once ... (TOP = EU) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My left lens is cloudy, polishing it outside didn't do any difference and i didn't want to open it because if i break it can't find a replacement
I believe there is a technique to remove the fogginess, not sure it is polishing. My mechanic did it on my carrera 996 and result was great, as new
When I spoke to him he confirmed he had the right parts, matching part numbers from handbook. Did not go ahead as I changed my mind but it seemed legit. [no affiliation, just trying to be helpful]
By the way, this is not only misspelled but also not true, they are just very expensive as there are only very few left. My mechanic quoted me for them recently (ridiculous price), but point is I could have bought some. So yes I would say XPEL is the way, this is what I did and worth it, can already see a chip on the film on one of them. Will be great if someone makes the again!
I have a fool proof method for removing the internal haze or fog from the lenses. PM me and I will explain.
Mel, I installed that thick 3M headlight protector but it fell off after a while. I used a heat gun to soften and stick as per the directions. One of my fog lights was new so wax or something on the lens wasn't the issue, they were clean. I can only think it was a bad batch and I'll probably try a different brand... Andrew
The fog is inside. You need to remove the glass from the housing, clean it, and reseal it w new silicone sealer. I used a marine 3M silicone adhesive.
Once you open it, it will clean with a paper towel. It's annoying that this even happens. It's like a dirty glass top table. It just needs a cleaning.
All you will need is a razor blade and a metal pick to work away the old adhesive. Takes a little time, but it is really easy. Just be careful not to drop the glass.
Absolutely correct Tim. And you can do that without taking off the lenses ... use a small cloth and a small stick or pencil. My advise: never open the house for the cleaning because you may/will drop the glass and that will break ...
