Just found a little bit of gas leaking from the gas drain plug after draining the gas about 2 months ago.. I had replaced the aluminum washer and thought maybe since it wasn't a crush washer that maybe the cause. Picked up the correct crush washer from the F dealer (3.50 what a ripoff) and it still leaks.
Could the threads on the plug be the issue, it looks okay, doubt if plug has been off/on too many times.
Should I try some gas resistant thread sealant?
    Anyone had this issue?
    Thanks for any advice.
    Jim

I would def try some gas sealant on the threads. Go simple first.

you may use not the aluminum sealing ring, take a material what is softer, copper for example.
you are sure it leaks from there? never had this before

Hylomar Universal Blue on the threads. Great stuff.

yes, great stuff, mostly when it goes into the fuel pump if you use too much

Wow, you must have really globbed it on. Only takes a bit to seal. I would not use it on high pressure connections, as it never dries.

Hylomar- real old fashioned stuff, a right pain when it gets into lines or filters if you use too much.
Some great loctite products about these days.
Hylomar was designed either by rolls royce or designed for them i believe- been in use over 50 years i think

I often use hylomar, but only there where the gaskets have to be removed later again. and that is so easy then. on all "paper"valve cover gaskets at a ferrari I use it both sides

Its fine provided you can get it the parts assembled before it dried. It was no use in engine rooms as too hot. Considering it has been made for so long it is doing well , against the modern products.

I ended up using the Hylomar Universal Blue.
    No leaks so far.
Will be taking it on a 100 mile cruise this weekend,
hopefully none of it dissolves into the fuel pump.
Thanks for all the advice and PM's.
