    2. The leak seems to be underneath. The coolant tank has a few rust spots and also seems wet.

    3. The car was stored in my garage for almost 10 months as I was overseas. I started it last week and drove it around. It drives well.

    4. This morning when I started the car I noticed the puddle on the garage floor and then the drip.

    5. The car is due for a major. The last major was in 2011.

    6. Hope its nothing serious.

    that is not the waterpump
I think the right cylinderbank where the hose is going to the Y connection it is leaking
    check there first please.
or one of the temperature sensors is broken?
when you look up you see from where the water is coming?

mike: shower gel and antifreeze is terribel ! ! ! :(

Likely it is either the wp or heater hose.

Since it is time for a major, don't mess with it - just do the major. Don't drive it - ship it.

Likely no additional expense beyond a 'typical' major. Breathe easy.

I agree with Romano....this is a hose issue. There are several hoses above this area, the large hose going to the water pump, the hoses near the top of the engine going to the "Y-shaped" manifold, and heater hoses. It could be any of these, you need to get under the car and look upwards in that area. That leak is pretty big so you should not drive the car like that. Bad water pumps will usually have a slow drip, not anything close to this leak.

Thank you for your help guys. I agree that I should get the major done before I attempt to drive it again but in the meantime I would like to troubleshoot the issue.

I re-filled the expansion tank and started the car again (so I could roll up the windows) and the drip is gone. Even with the car running for five minutes the drip is not happening.

Whats going on? If its a bad hose then shouldn't it keep leaking?

Yeah you only ran it for 5 mins. Did the fans come on? If not then you didnt get it hot enough to see if it leaks under pressure.
