hello I decided to buy, for my collection a ferrari 512 BB or BBi, I can find in the european market, many cars, but I decided by 2 options, one 512 BBi, few km (less 20.000 km), ferrari book service, classic certificate, very good car.
another is a 512 BB, full restored, 1000 km from total restoration, with a restoration book, classic certificate.
    sommes questions?
1 to use some times, not regulay, the 512BB can be problematic, with it,s carburators?
2 for the future value, BB or BBi?, my idea is to keep the car many time.
3 how can be reasonable to pay more for the BB to the BBi?, in europe, of course

thanks, when the trade are closed I show you the pictures I can't for the moment, but this 2 cars are a good cars.

Buy them both :) Very cool cars. What you're asking is speculative. IMHO: get the car you like more. The injection is simpler to live with, but the carbs have a great sound. Both are incredibly smooth, and both have a great exhaust note. Both are hand made. The body panels are crafted entirely by hand on both. Good luck with your decision.

it is a matter of the yearly cost what you will buy

if you like to keep the car for yourself long time without much driving or no driving take the carb car, if you like to drive sometimes or often take the injection car

in a couple of years you will find nearly nobody who still can adjust the carbs

but also a carb car makes much more fun than an injected car

so as 2Dinos has written - buy them both, best investment ( if you buy not too expensive ) for long time and also fun to drive

Buy the carb car, as others have said, makes a great sound, more fun the drive. You need to make sure the restoration has been carried out by someone who knows what they are doing. Has the restorer had any experience in restoring Ferraris?
I have a 1979 carb car, have had no issues regarding reliability, restarting when hot can take a minute or two otherwise the car has been a revelation. I also have a 355GTS .. Boxer feels way quicker than the 355... must be all that torque.

Beautiful BB, congratulations! You did the right thing.
Carbs are nothing to be afraid of. Frankly, I'd rather rebuild the Webers on a BB than the injection pump on a BBi. In my experience, the injected cars respond a little quicker off idle while the carb cars pull harder from mid range on up.

    Congrats, love the colours!

As a side note just to point out the classiche certification binder and how it really doesn't mean a whole lot, the fog lights in this car are for an injected car, not the correct ones for a carb'd BB. Minor detail I know but thats only at a quick glance. Certification can still be had with a non-numbers matching powertrain so I really dont understand what the certification means. Can someone tell me? I watched a fully restored boxer done by a ferrari dealer complete with certification not even place in a judged event. If the car can have incorrect items on it and not have the original engine and gearbox and become certified what is it the certification is saying?

Fantastic. Enjoy it. Right now is perfect Boxer weather in the US in NYC; cooler temps, so you're not melting.

Even with the AC blowing icy cold my car gets warm in the summer.

Hello today we inspected the car, everything is ok, the restauration are perfect, engine and gear matching, the ferrari certification perfect, only the colours, but for me, this changement are a value. They give us a large restoration book, with a big bills from a modenaclassicworks, ineco ferrari dealer, and luppi, alls in Italy.
The pictures from the restauration, the next days....
