I know it's your car, but why did you de-Koenig a Koenig Ferrari? To me it looked great the way it was; but the work you did to bring it to it's original configuration looks great.
The Koenig modifications are way too much. I think ist a good thing to restore the car to original beauty! Did the BB have engine modifications too?
is / was this only koenig body or also engine and brake modification? my koenig BB has nearly the original body ( so not so wide ) and air intakes on the engine hood, also a modified engine hood but has an engine modification without airfilters and also other brakes.
And mine is the opposite with only engine and suspension mods! Glad to see you undid the conversion, looks great!
Kinda like removing the silicone from a dancers breasts! Always best to stay true to the Marque..Good job!
Tolles Projekt! Schön, das dieses Fahrzeug wieder in seinen Serienzustand versetzt wird. Bitte mehr Fotos davon
I'm 50/50 on your move. I ALWAYS loved the Koenig Boxer, and yours looked GOOD! But to have a Boxer in it's original form is hard to beat.
You did a great job removing the added bodywork. I've never been a fan of Koenig body kit. TOO MUCH FOR NOTHING. You now have a nicer car.
At first I was shocked by the first pictures, I thought at first how pity But when I saw how bad the plastic parts were built on, I found the dismantling a good idea. Which new parts were needed for dismantling? Rims, mirrors ... What happens to the old Koenig Parts?? I am happy with my conversion: widening, F40 fuel cap, conversion engine hood ... everything has been built of metal. Rims, mirrors and the frontspoiler, that's all. The Koenig-Parts are destroyed, beside the Frontspoiler and Rims of course
OK and the mirrors also not destroyed... But it is not easy to get a new Frontspoiler, the mirrors are perhaps also at other models. The 512 is such a wonderfull car, especial the motor/transmission. So I have the last 512 Flat 12 but with some modern extras like Servo....and not so expensive, and I can drive it out of the garage.
It wasn't garbage, maybe not to your liking, but not garbage. I was lucky enough to see some Koenig Ferraris, Porsches and Mercedes in the 1980's and their were great cars.
Ah, the 80's... when the music was good and the fashion wretched. When I was young the Koenig shot my adrenaline up by 100 psi, but now that I'm fat and middle aged the original look of a Boxer is perfect. It's a fine line to tread when modifying a Raphael & da Vinci-quality hunk of art. JWW
The front rims are the original rear rims of the Ferrari 512 BB. The rear rims I have stored. If you need it please contact me via PN.
