    Hello all.

In this high tech age of custom made wheels, I'm wondering if there's a manufacturer that would make an exact copy of the 512bb wheels, but in 16 inch size.
This would allow a much better tire, (55 series, V-rated) and would not look too big like the 17 inch Speedline wheels do.

It wouldn't have the genny look of the XWX's, but Ill bet a judge would scratch his head as if he had lice!
Or a person would just bolt on the original wheels for show.
Anyone know a good custom wheel maker?
    Just a thought.

Take a look at this thread. "Non-metric wheels for 512BBis" I thought it would come up so you could click on it, but looks like you will have to put it in a search.

    Just to be clear,
I'd want the single spinner version. An exact copy.

Then those aren't for you but they are a single spinner rim. The 5 bolt holes are to mount the spline drive hub.

You want the carb'd version with a deep rear rim. The problem is finding a tire that fits in a size that looks right and is the same brand front to rear. Then cross your fingers they keep making them long term or you may only get one set of tires worth of use on those $10K rims you had made.

I'm looking into this as we speak. Not only is it a tire issue, but it's also a safety issues. These rims that are on the 512, 308 and TR seem to be degrading and getting brittle. I think a lot of has to do with the magnesium content of the wheel.

By today's standards they are a very simple design and really wouldn't take much to make a few out of modern materials.
