Just saw Don Johnson's white TR w 15K miles sell at Mecum FL for $112K + commission .
Really? Here's the mecum listing for his grey TR and says the high bid now is 50k, but the auction doesn't start until the 17th? https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0114-173967/1989-ferrari-testarossa/ Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
I've been to Mecums in Kissemme and thought the exotics for the most part where subpar. But real Don Johnson? Hmmmm. Makes you wonder.
That's $120k before title, licensing and insurance - that's a solid price and means the TR market is on the rebound.
"Timing belts and major service done at 15,210 miles, as well as clutch master cylinder and brake master cylinder replaced" and "current miles are 15,300"usually means the service was done when the consignor bought the car in 2005 and he's driven the car 90 miles since then. If the service was done recently it would have given a date.
Thinking this is more about the 'DJ' premium and not as much about TR pricing. Personally I view this as a slight negative for TR pricing. I mean if I can get a 'DJ' TR for this low of price....why would I pay nearly that amount for a "non- DJ car"?? Make sense??
