    Hello there,

I live in Switzerland (Zuerich Area) and enjoy my 512TR for three years now.
For this year I'll schedule an engine out service and am thinking about some things to include in the process.

    Such as:
    - delete the pre-cats
    - replace standard cats with metal cats
    - chose an aftermarket exhaust for a more sporty exhaust note

It would be great to hear from other Swiss owners who have done similar things.

Can I replace the pre-cats and still comply with local emission laws?
Which aftermarket exhausts can be used in Switzerland that comply with local laws?

Thanks for your help - and enjoy your cars.

    Sorry I'm not swiss.

Don't know what you're emissions laws are but if you just gut the precats, in other words, destroy the ceramic inside and pull it out so it's hollow, it will improve exhaust flow and no one will know without taking your exhaust apart. As far as the cats, there are aftermarkets available, or you could just delete them but make sure you replace with straight pipe. Silencer is your choice.

I prefer all stock. Quiet yet powerful.

    Thanks for your feedback.
This being rigorous Switzerland there is a mandatory emission checkup every two years. CO, CO2 and HC are measured - I'm not sure what effect deleting the pre-cats would have on this check.

Anyone done it before in Switzerland?

    hello hans
I´m near to you ( from basel 5 km on the german side, eimeldingen ), but just now during german wintertime in thailand

the precats are only good for engine warm up that the emissions get down faster. but this is not a part of the emission test in the CH as I know. without those pre-cats the CO, CO2 and HC are still ok in warm engine condition
