    Hi guys

Hoping you can shed some light on this one.

Think I possibly have two issues

    1. I have not blower (internal dash) at all working.
When I got the car it was very temperamental and would sometimes work then cut out then randomly cut back in. Currently nothing at all.
However turning the console speed dial, at high speed I can hear the correct relay cut in and out. But no Blower function

    2. Air con not working. And when car is cold I get a clicking noise from front of engine. Hard to figure out exactly but sounds like either a/c compressor or alternator area. Typically it's not done it for a few days so again hard to pin point.

    Any suggestions ?

Let the electrical guru's tell you.

The click means imo that the AC generator is activated. sounds like an electrical issue.

Did you look at the connectors that go in and go out of your fusebox ?

    Burnt contacts mean PROBLEMS !

    Hi melvok

I'm thinking along the same lines

I'm going to double check but if I remember correctly I used this fuse board and put it in my TR Spider and the fans worked in that car so it's not fuse board

Do you think this could be the motor gone wrong as per your thread where you replaced with the SPAL type 011 A40-22 1 ?

Wondering if there's any way to test without removing all the dash

    Probably not :(

The sound you describe at the front of the engine could be the AC clutch energizing/de-energizing. +12V power exits the k white connector in a terminal with a large brown wire and a small brown wire in the same terminal. The large brown wire goes to the AC unit to run the blower, and the small brown wire goes to the AC ECU to run the AC clutch (and the little air temp sensing blower). Consequently, first thing to check would be the condition of that terminal and the swaging of these brown wires into that female terminal of the k connector. If it seems OK, you have to start looking at the relays/connections on the AC unit itself (IIRC, the AC relays are accessed thru the LHD Driver's side of the central tunnel -- if you could get there, and to the 12-pin connector, might be able to make voltage measurements to confirm/deny the health of the actual blower motor.)

Does the little air temp sensing blower motor to the left of the steering wheel run with the key "on"? If it does, that would be a sign that things on the fuse-relay panel are working correctly.

Previously, were both full speed and variable speed working, or we're you already down to only full speed working?

Is there a way to simplify this temp sensing, variable speed blower setup?
Maybe like bypass some sensors, and turn the blower on in resistor steps and temp on or off?

Hi Guys, this is now my problem after purchasing the car from Scott.

I've just checked where the air temp sensor motor should be and there isn't one there, just a blanking grommet! Although there is a loose 4 pin connector which is +12v on ignition.

I'm not too worried about the A/C at the moment but is there anyway of just dealing with the blower motor first, just to get that up and running? Anyway of sending 12v direct to the motor before I embark on a 'dash-out'?
