Any suggestions for a good car cover? A couple of things I care about: I want it to fit well. Also, I don't want black as I'd like it to withstand some sun. 99.99 % of the time, it will be used for dust, indoors.

I've purchased a $40 cover. Total junk - waste of money. Then I got some generic cover at a car parts store. It was usable for many years, but now I would like something that fits better.

    Thanks for input

Nope... Just your typical garden variety stock BBi.

    Good day Romano,

There is not a 612 BBi... 2dinos simply made a typing mistake (meant to type 512 BBi) in the thread title and Newman was having a bit of fun with it.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Is it even possible to increase the displacement of a 512 to 612? You hear about the 308 and 328 engines being increased all of the time, has anyone ever attempted this with a 512?

    I miss-typed 512.

I think the car cover is totally different for a 612BB :) But all things considered, I have been having trouble finding fitment for a 512BB (so a 612BB is probably not much harder). :)

All right - enough of this one.

So any suggestions on a cover? I got an Evolution for a Mercedes, and the fit is perfection. Mirrors, antenna, bumpers. Just great. But can't find an offering for a BB. The parts store cover I have on the Boxer is droopy. It drags on the ground all around the car. Falls off with a puff of wind.

    Many thanks

it depends on how much you like to spend for this cover.

so why not go to an upholsterer or a cutter and let one produce? they may tell you good material to use

I once had a very good and expensive cover but sold it with my car. I don´t know if I can decsribe the material right, but I try:
inside it was like geese feathers, very soft, and outside like linen

Classic Additions out of the U.K. has a nice car cover that allows you to customize for material, size, color, piping, logo, etc.

    Thank you guys!

When I bump the displacement to 6 liters, I'll have to get a new cover in a different color :)

somehow a perfect body looks better in sheer lingerie! I think I hear her whispering to me...

All I did was go to the Griot's website, under car covers a BBi was listed as one of the fitted options. I am very satisfied with it after many years, kudos to Griot's!

I'm having trouble in many of these sights finding a listing for the 512BB. Yes, I'm sure - well pretty sure I entered the car correctly. :)

I gotta make some calls. I want it form fitting.

I bought a Griot's for my Dino 30 years ago. I recall it took a long time to deliver, but when it showed, it looked and fit perfect.
