The actual wrist pin didn't break which would be easier to explain, just the snap ring that holds it in. I can't find any left over pieces and the cylinder liner is not scratched up from it coming loose.

I would not be attempting to rebuild that engine. Your just putting the pin back in the grenade. Price out a complete unit from Porsche. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the price. These liquid cooled engines are. Nothing like the air cooled units. They are almost a throw away item if they pop. Maybe that's why Porsche keeps the replacement costs for the motors at a fair and almost cheap price.
