Hello Gentlemen, I know that this might be a weird place for this request, but I also realize that most on this forum have connections outside the Ferrari would and might know of a nice XK-E roadster for sale, in which the owner’s not asking blue sky…Any referrals would be appreciated.

I have my little 308, but the wife says I’ve been a good boy and I can have another toy.
    Thank you all, Chris.

Depends on your concept of "blue sky".

    What's your budget?

Silver and red is a great combo on this car. As long as the silver is original or high quality repaint. Silver is a horrible color if not done correctly.

I agree. As far as I know it is original paint. This car is in an amazing condition and has been one of my favorites so far.

I have often thought of getting a Jag of this era - don't know much about them other then they are iconic - whats the best year or years - 6 cycle or 12 - know they were a nightmare electrically - had a brother in law who had one new in 1966 - what a beauty - BR GREEN with beige interior - have seen them for as high as 180,000 on F40 motorsports - seem like that should be concours ready - any ideas?

For what it's worth, personally I love the V12. That long hood, low, smooth, fast and simply a classic beauty with the top down. Tough to beat cruising in a car Enzo Ferrari described as "the most beautiful car ever made".

IMO...You want the earlier V12 as a '72 as they don't have the big rubber bottle stoppers for bumpers ...UGLY! You want a convert with no rust. Get one with the engine and trans in good shape and well maintained by a Jaguar enthusiast. If it has been serviced by the local gas station, you will have problems to deal with. Drive it, get it hot to make sure it doesn't over heat. Electricals are simple to work on, readily available parts with reasonable prices from the numerous sources.

Thanks for your info - what would I have to pay for close to perfect - used as a driver - most probably completely restores sometime in the past 5 years or so

Hey Guys, just wanted to say "Thanks" to all that responded, I know it was a little unorthodox posting a thread requesting the sourcing of a non-Ferrari vehicle. I was keeping my figures crossed that it wouldn’t be the subject of sarcasm. To my delight it wasn’t! ...Thanks again, please keep them coming I’ll take a look at them all!
    Thank you, Chris.

Identify which car you want......the car went a through huge transformation from beginning to end. Strongly suggest reading up as there's plenty of material on the subject.

I did the same and decided on a car between '65-'67.......since this was a long term hold for me I'm glad I held out for what I decided on because I was tempted many times to stray.

I’m actually good for any that are in excellent driving condition. I’d like to remain within the years of 1961-1971 however. Prerequisite would be a roadster though absent ANY rust whatsoever.
No too huge of a fan of the colors; primrose, ascot fawn, willow green, regency red, and sable…that stated, if an excellent example came to light I’d it give strong consideration.
In a previous life I’ve had (separate times) 2-ea. series II cars. I went through a brutal divorce and lost my last one…that hurt…ouch…
    Thank you for the reply!

    Hey Guys just an update:

Holy Smokes! I'm very glad that there are a few out there for consideration! The ones that I've reviewed have had serious rust issues.

My quest remains...Any referrals are GREATLY appreciated!

I’m pretty serious about the purchase, it just has to be a car that makes sense. Poised and ready to pull the trigger fpor th eright one!

I have met some very nice people in the process though.

    Thank you very much guys.

    Chris.

    Thanks Pete,
I did just that, they're do great work but charge a huge premium for their cars since they're mostly concourse restorations. I'd be in the look for an exceptional driver that I could possibly show. Their cars were north of $100K...ouch!
    Thank you for the response.
    Chris
