To the best I can tell from the communications I receive from my Jaguar dealer, my F-Type V8S roadster should have arrived at the Port of Baltimore today (unless weather delayed.) Hopefully the predicted storms won't delay its stay there too long. Not that I should be in a big hurry for it to arrive in this frozen wasteland...

    Excited nonetheless!

Got confirmation today that the car is on the truck on its way to my dealer. In 11 days I leave with my daughter on a spring break college tour trip. It will encompass over 3000 miles in one week. Not sure if we can fit one week's worth of clothes and incidentals into the trunk of that car, but it would be tempting to do the road trip in it.

Awesome! The exhaust notes on those things just sort of grunt. Post more pics when you can !

Congrats, man! I drove the s-type V8 yesterday... An absolute blast! The exhaust is pure hooligan and the trans is magnificent.

Some initial impressions after the first 60 miles or so:

    1) Styling is of course subjective, but I like the way this car looks now more than when I ordered it.
    2) The car is incredibly quick; subjectively feels faster than my old F430 did but not as fast as my 599.
    3) Minimal body roll under hard cornering with a fairly neutral balance unless you hammer the throttle.
    4) The suspension in dynamic mode is a little too punishing, at least on the winter-ravaged Chicago roads.
    5) Turn in is quite sharp, but there's no question you're turning in a lot of mass.
    6) The exhaust is not everyone's taste. I like it, wife doesn't; when she first heard it she thought something was wrong with the car. Those pops you hear when you lift off the throttle can be addicting.
    7) The ZF 8 speed quick-shift transmission makes you realize there are superb alternatives to a dual clutch; however, I'm still more enamored with the Porsche PDK than any other transmission I ever experienced. I will see how that one performs when my wife gets her Macan in August.
    8) A little too much plastic in the interior for my taste even with the extended leather package, probably all the more noticeable coming out of the Aston where all surfaces were swathed in leather. However, the overall look of the interior is still very pleasing to me.
    9) Very comfortable, I'm 6'1" and have no trouble getting into a good driving position.
    10) The Meridian 700 watt sound system has exceeded my expectations.
    11) Since I'm not a big Corvette fan, for me this is the most bang for the buck on the market. To my tastes it far exceeds a Carrera S Cab at $40,000 less than the Porsche.

Excellent write up! Glad you like the car.

Off topic: how did y'all decide on the Macan for your wife? We are thinking seriously about an Audi SQ5 for my wife, she loves them, I like them, but in the back of my mind I can't shake thinking we should wait and test drive a Macan before deciding.

She wanted a smaller SUV now that carpooling kids is a thing of the past. We went to Chicago Auto Show and she sat in nearly every one of the damned things. She picked the Macan, mostly based on looks, I think.

Fair enough. That's exactly how my wife picked her last 2-3 vehicles, and how she picked the Audi. I probably need to "accidentally" arrange a face-to-face meeting with the Macan! ;)

Congrats! I really like the brown leather.

IMO this is one of the best looking cars on the market today. It doesn't look oversized and bloated like a lot of other cars out today. I think the design will age very well.

Looks a little Ferrari California-ish from the side….Does anyone else see that?
