Is the E body aluminum or steel ? Was thinking of maybe going w polished aluminum look or opalescent blue Thoughts ? Thnx
I used to work on a replica lightweight coupe. I believe it was rebodied in aluminum by the factory after the original lightweights were made. It was a successful vintage racer once a bunch of problems were sorted. I believe it was sold to a guy in Puerto Rico. There are photos somewhere if you're interested.
RS Panels and CMC the folks who restored the Linder knocker lightweight both make Aluminum E type panels and both are in the UK . There is no one better . I say make it Opalesant silver blue ....... but I am biased . Gary Espada 8394 EtypeFHC 887465 Image Unavailable, Please Login
How about Opalecent Silver Grey, different from the their Opalecent Gunmetal Grey and it changes color a bit in different light = blue tones and sometimes greenish tones. When shot correctly a beautiful color against navy interior and top. I am very prejudice of course, as it was the color of my old car and I originally wanted Opalecent Silver Blue.

Saw my E for 1st time in the metal yesterday. She looks good n red, might leave her in red for a while
William- Red looks great on E-Types. No chance for normal mortals to buy one of the 6 continuation lightweight E-Types. Only to Jaguar collectors known to the factory.
As usual, reporters get it wrong. Aston Martin and Lola have already done this ... and sold continuation vehicles. Pete
Yes, they are all sold and for around $1.6m each I heard. A 1962 Series 1 roadster is on my list: http://www.fastanddust.com/images/jaguar-e-type-roadster-1.jpg
As cool as a polished aluminum body may appear..It is the most difficult to maintain.. I ended up using 5 tubes of simichromepoli a month at 20 bucks each to maintain the lustre I liked...not to mention all the elbow grease and hundreds of microfibre towels... I love the look but it oxidizes within a few days...gets cloudy. Nothing tops it for a chick magnet though..they dont need a compact mirror for their makeup!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I didn't assume it was one of the "new" ones. Your post simply reminded me of this particular Jaguar release. Either way, it sounds great!
