Been trying to buy a DBS for a while now and it seems ALL of them have been passed around from dealer to dealer and most not selling...I've googled 5 so far and all of them show up at between 1 and 5 other dealers at one time or another....the yellow one on ebay in Florida and it looks great but it's been 4 other places including Chicago, Carolina, and now back to Florida. It started out advertised with 2k miles and now has 4k or so.. Looked at a nice Silver one that was in Florida advertised at $114k and now in Ohio- dealer to dealer- advertised at $118k..was told by the Florida guy that he "wholesaled" it for $106k..Hell, I would have paid $106k!....is the market that soft? seems like low $100's is a good number although I understand they'll continually drop as time goes by....

also looking at DB 9's but don't see the shuffling going on like the DBS...anyone have any thoughts? thanks in advance.

Thanks Armen....believe me I've read that thread a thousand times :) ...still concerned about the tranny as I'll be using as a daily, and being a homebuilder there will be a lot of stopping and starting in traffic- although the S does have the magnetic sensors that seem to alleviate most of the issues. Still have nightmares about the first new car I ever bought ('07 M5) and that crap of a gearbox the SMG. I watched Tiff from 5th gear thrash it around a track and had to have it..but real-world daily driver experience was horrendous...
values do seem to be somewhat stable with the Vanquish S so from that standpoint it is appealing---of course Clarkson didn't do it any favors when tested on TopGear---

Back in 2011 when I was in the market looking for a Vanquish S, my Aston dealer tried to sell me a 09 manual DBS desperately.
17,000mls, around 160k$. He had the car standing in the show room for month and at the end he sold it for pretty less than 160k.

Seems to be the DBS story...

Yes, I do live in Paris. :)
And I can assure you that there is no problem at all with the Vanquish S.
As soon as you assimilate how to drive it, it's going perfectly.
As you perfectly said, the S has the magnetic sensors.
    ;)

    I have a Volante V12 2006.

it is to our advantage that many do not value these cars at their true worth.

yes with some early DB9s in the $50's and early Vanquish non-S's in the $60's I totally agree:)

any issues with your '06 James?

If I may offer another explanation, aside from the Gaydon cars looking virtually alike,
Aston Martin over estimated their new customers.

Their cars from DB9 forward have come out in near-rapid succession and the theory is that
they were counting on the same guys who bought a DB9 to buy a DBS, V8 Vantage, etc.

This may have been true when new Aston Martin models were coming out once every
decade or so but not when a new one is being introduced every year.

Regardless, I'd jump at the chance to own a DBS with paddle shift as a manual shifter in the
    car seems antiquated.

Nothing serious - it had an O2 sensor out which was repaired before I bought it in 2012, and a Freon leak in the AC which became obvious as soon as summer 2012 came along.

Pretty much standard stuff for a car that had been sitting for a while - I have 21,000 miles now.

After owning six Ferraris in a row, the last being a 430 Scud 16M I decided to try something else. Four months ago I bought a 09 DBS manual six speed black on black. I absolutely love it, nice to be using a clutch again after a few paddle cars, much nicer as a daily driver than the scud. I've put 4000 miles on it already. Best 110k I ever spent. Only thing is I miss the flash of the Ferrari sometimes.
