McLaren 650S Arrival

Chad, its funny I drove my 12C this morning and am driving the 458 this afternoon, the 12C feels much faster than the 458. Funny about all the comparison tests that they do, but the McLaren feels so much more different than any other car in terms of feel, structural integrity, sound (which I think sounds fine with a sports exhaust), etc.

Look forward to hearing your impressions.

Love the Orange, my wife wanted me to trade my Black 12C for the same Orange 650S Spider as yours over here.

btw just noticed the "heritage" nose badge. did you spec that? I love that touch. the modern McLaren logo is awful, the old school badge is perfect.

 

That is now standard on all 650S models and was available on 12C's if you optioned $50k with MSO.

 

Same thing happened to me 2 years ago.

 

I don't get why people hate on McLaren so much. I understand that it is a turbo, which is not to everyone's liking but there is so much more that McLaren has brought to the table. Their Jekyll and Hyde suspension is amazing. Also people are so quick to compare them to Ferrari and put them down but no one seems to appreciate the fact that the 650S is only their second mass production car (F1 was far from mass produced) and it blows away most supercars, all this from a small sports car manufacturer.

Got it, just hate when someone turns a Respected Members new car they are posting a thread on into a McLaren/Ferrari critique thread. Usually, I have noticed they don't have a subscription nor a profile filled out. Chad (Hawkeye) has one of the nicest Ferrari Collections, and it shows his lack of bias that he bought a 650S.
