    Time for a change......
I need a car that can fit 4-5 to help with kid duty as well as a good daily driver (presently DD = AM V12 VS).
I know these are on opposite ends of the spectrum, but they are appealing in their own ways.
I've always loved the design and uniqueness of the AM (this would be my 4th). I do hate the depreciation of these cars.
The RR SVR is the fastest car produced by Land Rover.
Both cars have around 550 hp, though obviously the RR weighs nearly a ton more.

RR SVR you can fit people more comfortably. the rapide rear seating is very small and cramped.

Do agree on the not having an Suv,altough the Rapid is a good looking car,its lways dissapointing to drive, its upposed to compete with todays high end luxury sedans, but falls short imo in most categorys, also its design is getting long in the tooth, try BMW grnd coupe m6 , my buddy just got one, looks better(imo) and does everything better, my almost neigbor got a 14 Rapide, the word kit kar is not fair, but a far cry from todays standard,if it outrn everything, i guess i could live with the short comings, but sadly,it does not.

Meant around a 1000 lb more...

In any case, I am leaning towards the RR SVR....My wife does have an Escalade as well but the RR SVR seems like it would be a nice sporty ride with plenty of room for the family.
I have been disappointed with AM as of late...

Rapide wont get the job done of holding 5. It barely fits 4. And... I hate to say it... but with children involved and them typically not being so delicate in there actions... the aston is going to get abused... or rather show its abuse more. They are more fragile.

Also they just aren't that great to drive.

The RR is just going to be a much better fit for your use.

Well as much as I love Aston, I agree the Rapide will wear itself thin with the kids. I am picking up an SVR IN Estoril Blue.
Stock it is 550hp, I'm going to do a tune and pulley to push it to 630hp. Can't wait!

Getting information from my buddy who tuned his ATB through company called ETG - ECU Tuning Group. His RRS does 0-60 in 3.85 and 1/4 mile in 10.9.

I really really really wanted to buy a Rapide ( have owned a Vantage and loved it). Wife and I fought all the way to the dealership for a test drive.
Sadly, I had to eat some serious crow. The suspension, comfort, ease of use and driving enjoyment of the Rapide are abysmal. The dealer said " it is not a sedan, it is sports car stretched out for four doors". Fit and finish are very nice, as are most AMs , but driving it was not a pleasant experience. Diver visibility is poor. Maybe it was just this particular car but the suspension was out of tune. Going over a speed bump in the parking lot, the car seemed to react differently on all 4 corners.
I really wanted to buy it, had moved funds into an account to take it home but at the end of the test drive, I beat my wife back to her RR Sport for a long quiet ride home.

Curious what year was the Rapide you test drove.
I test drove a 2015 and I was quite impressed by its handling and power.
Problem is....customer service has been abysmal.

It was a 2013. 3K miles and was half the sticker price of new. The engine and transmission may be improved but the configuration does not look like it has changed. The small back seats and no visibility as well as the loud exhaust ( not appreciated by younger kids) will have kids pitching a fit every time you put them in the back.

I was looking at 2014's too, wonder if they drive similar to the 2015's. I do believe the 15's changed the gearboxes....

Good points! My oldest is 8 and and next are 5, 3 and 1. I can see the middle 2 kicking away at the seats....(even with the DVD's in the head rests)

I'm sorry there is no way a brick is doing the 1/4 mile in the same time as a 997 tts or a 458 and faster than the new Z06. The 0-60 time seems too fast and not likely either.

    2015 has the new 8speed tranny vs 6sp in 2014 (same 550hp).
As in Vanquish, makes a hell of a difference, drops from roughly 5s 0-60 to around 4 sec.

I really like my 2014 Rapide S, at least so far. Had it for 6 weeks. It is a little loud but not so much when cruising in traffic. More at start up and idle. Drives great and feels solid. Not super fast for 550hp. Fit and finish is superb. Feels very luxurious to me. Back seat is tight but I only use it rarely.
