Well they are launching it with a manual which to me sounds great, but the rumour is that they will launch it with an 8-speed ZF Automatic just as they did with the updated Vanquish and Rapide. That front fender arch looks wrong, like it wasn't put on right. Cant wait to see the entire car and learn more about the spec of the new 5.2 V12 Twin-Turbo.
Car needs a new interior and about 650-700hp to be competitive... or a $175K MSRP. Vanquish lose about $150K in the first year.
The interior of the Vanquish was beautiful but the infotainment system was old, that definitely needs to be updated. Hope the evolution from the DB9 to the DB11 will be as impressive as the one from the DB7 to the DB9. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
According to Autoblog.nl this is the front end. The chin looks weird but the side vents look good. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Front end looks like it has features of the old Vanquish. Nice enough looking in the pix. Granted, for this kind of money, the infotainment and switchgear should be top notch. The ZF 8 speed actually works pretty well with paddles from what I have heard. Still would like to see stick, but I don't think they will go there. The used market wants three pedals, but those who purchase these new go for auto boxes...
Looking at the features and styling of modern cars like the new E-class, Aston has its work cut out for it. Hopefully they pull it off. Historically Astons are beautiful but a little slower than some of the competition and things like nav systems and electronics have always been a generation behind. I'm really curious what the Vantage replacement will be like with the F-type R at $100k giving such a great value for the performance. Again, Aston had better step it up. I think to succeed, among other factors, 0-60 times need to be in the low 3's to stay competitive.
If that image of the front of the car is authentic then this TopSpeed rendering is quite correct as well, although I think it was based on a DB9 because of those old wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Some partials of the finished interior. Aston always have the most beautiful interiors, luxurious but not over the top. Thinking that central large gauge was inspired by the DB10. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
One thing I've never been a fan of is the schmaltzy gauges in the Gaydon era Astons. Form over function. Real gauges in a performance car please...
You can thank the euro pedestrian laws. It really put a damper on styling ideas for the front of any car. Rapide is the best example, compare the original (until 2013) vs the Rapide S that looks like a butch from the front.
No doubt. For the life of me, I cannot fathom the cost incurred to protect the small percentage of pedestrians that might be foolish enough to step in the path of a motor vehicle. Nanny state nonsense. As a result, the front of newer Mercedes is much less appealing that the previous generation. You can see elements of that design requirement in the DB11 as well...
Yes that looks very similar to the gauges on the DB10 and it seems similar to the DB11, strange that three exterior images have been leaked but none of the interior.
Found this on twitter, Aston are gonna be upset someone leaked this. Link: https://twitter.com/Rudybenjamin13/status/699715273209876480 BTW: I think it looks very attractive!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
It does look very attractive and familiar Aston. Though I was looking for something different, a la DB10
So the design is a lot younger than the horrendous mess that is the immortal Porsche 911... Personally, I like Astons design language. It is elegant. It is timeless. Glad they decided to evolve a very good formula and didn't throw away their heritage.
