    Probably doesn't belong in this sectuion, but man, that's insane quick. It's on OEM Corsas which makes it even more impressive.

    Wouldn't be surprised in the LT can do 140mph and maybe 10s flat.

    Not surprised. Our 650s is much faster than our Speciale, as expected.

    Crazy fast!

    Trap speed is similar to 911 Turbo S but 1/2sec faster on the 1/4 mile.

    Would love to see one against the 488. Should be really close.

    I dragged mine a lot before and matched those numbers exactly.

    Maybe other 991 Turbo S owners can confirm.

    I think 650s coupe will probably beat the 488 gtb

    Maybe if yours is in kph and the 650S is in mph ;)

    Turbo S is around 133 mph on a good day.

    I've owned both and turbo s fast off the line secondary to AWD but only traps around 128-129mph. The 488 is supposed to be faster than 650s from 0-124mph .
    650s = 8.4sec
    488 = 8.3 sec

    Mclaren really pulls hard in 3rd gear and on top end so after 124mph it's anyone's guess. Likely the mclaren will be faster on the top.

    I am sorry, I did not express myself properly.

    I meant that the McLaren figures matched the 911 Turbo S exactly at the start (60 ft, 1/8, 0-60 MPH) but that the McLaren was faster by 0.5 sec on the 1/4 mile. The Turbo S was definitely weak at the top end.

    So without the sound factor and focusing on performance, is the 488 gtb worth paying $100,000 more than a 650s?

    Principally strong competition is great as it encourages innovation, i.e. Ferrari now needs to step up to the plate again soon

    The solution to this issue is simple, don't look at it, there are hundred other threads you could be looking at right now.

    It's just conversation. I own a 458 and 430 and just want to discuss merits behind the choice between a 488 vs 650s since the 488s main advantage to me over the 458 is performance.

    My 991 TTS takes my 675 off the line, and my p1 off the line. But once the speedo hits about 50MPH is pretty silly what happens after that. Porsche nowhere to be found, I actually pulled over to wait for it to catch up.

    That is seriously impressive! I would make the obvious point that the 2 big turnoffs to turbos are sound (which has been discussed endlessly) and lag - which has been largely left untouched.

    Personally after driving mine for a while I think the sound is pretty good and although I would concede that it's not NA good, it's actually better than you'd expect - for those that haven't heard or driven it, I think you'll be impressed.

    But what they've manged to achieve from a lag perspective is simply amazing. I have driven the McLaren and it's very fast and feels about the same as a 488, however it isn't as responsive. For me lag is a bigger issue than sound and whilst I think McLaren have done an excellent job, Ferrari have performed some sort of witchcraft to have that much boost, power and torque and yet the response feels like that of a NA car.

    I can't believe we live in a day where a stock car on street tyres can run a 10.37 @137mph, yet is daily drive able and awesome on the track.

    I've had my 488 for almost 3 weeks and all I can say is thank-you to those that created it - it's a masterpiece!
