I went to the local dealers "private" viewing - of a computer screen.... it, in pictures, appears to be another fabulous car.... very Aston, very curvaceous, lots of neat design cues... and very unique. They said $240K starting. MB AMG electronics Turbo V12, >600 bhp. From a distance, F12 / vette / F type look very similar, to my eye this is all Aston!
There was a rumor that it will be offered with a proper manual gear box. Does anyone know if that is true?
Want to see it in person before judging, but dealer said that production only starts in summer and won't be able to go to Geneva this week... . However, like at the moment mostly front 2/3, not sure about rear end and flying sides... . Due to clamshell engine cover, wonder how much dirt will accumulate in wheel well and side strakes as they go into wheel well... Cheers, Frank
It's Aston heritage in undeniable. Hoping they've improved on the ride quality and technology. Just a beautiful design. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Probably because i'm used to the previous Aston's lines..i find the new model irrelevant and a little bit ugly, especially at the front.
Looks like every other Aston for the past 20 years. I would like to see them mix it up a little bit more.
+1. I kept hearing about that this was the start of the new Aston Martin, each model will be individual, etc. This just looks like the roofline from the Aston Martin DBX, rehashed DB9 parts and it just doesn't flow. I'll wait to see live pics and in the flesh but initially I am disappointed. I liked the DB10 and loved it in the flesh, perhaps the same will happen.
Astons look all the same to me; a bit like the Porsches. Not necessarily a bad thing, but nothing very innovative either. It looks like the stylists copy each other, fearing someone wouldn't recognise the car as a proper Aston.
True. It actually doesn't flow like original. I guess we were all anticipating a more drastic change given the hype over the AMG/Aston collaboration.
Very nice, although maybe a bit busier that I'd like with all the various styling details. That said, I am most excited about the fact that in 10 or so years I will be able to pick one of these beauties up for $50-60K!
It almost looks like they reached perfection with the Vanquish, had to come up with a new car and just started changing dimensions of little things. It doesnt flow together as well and looks different just for the sake of being different.
Big mystery is still what interior looks like. If someone at Geneva car show could take some pictures and post them...
all the details including interior... not really sold on the dashboard though... Aston Martin DB11 | Home
without manual and same 8 sp auto as a jaguar, this car has little purpose at triple the f type money
