Not bad at all. Actually it is very beautiful and interesting. Is that the official release/design or just the concept of the AM-RB 001?
Official - Price is around 3.5 Mio, 150 for the road and 25 for the track. Performance like a LMP1 - Power/Waight 1:1
I love it! I especially like the look of the LMP-style rendering someone posted to Twitter though it appears to just be the fin and side wing from the Bugatti prototype and a nifty paint scheme. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is great. Maybe AM race it officially...maybe not. I don't understand something though. Why DB11's production ended so soon?
indeed! I like the way this CEO think. He is good for the brand. This will be one of the last non hybrid hypercar. (If you wanti to drive your phone or your laptop, buy a Tesla. It makes a super "bbzzzzzz" sound.) And: "AM-RB has promised a 1:1 bhp-per-kilo power-to-weight ratio" If this is true, for a 100% V12 aspirated it will be a first! The lambo SV Aventator has a 1hp for 2+lbs. So that gives you an idea! The overall design is superb but I would soften the bulges of wheel arches and make the front more "Aston recognizable" to remove the La Ferrari look. If they pull it off it will put the brand on the forefront of the rebel car makers.
That concept is a one seater I'm assuming? Unless they figure the passenger sits on the drivers lap? Or the car is 12 feet wide?
What's interesting is the resemblance with Pagani Huayra, especially in the front. I was unsure of the front of Huayra (still don't love it) but it seems like Horatio is on to something.
Newey talks, people listen. Some comments from him on why no hybrid, or DCTs, as it is intended to be extremely light. Should be a monster.
Just so you know, 2.204622622 lbs = 1 kilogram. So depending in what the + means in your 2+lbs Lamborghini might have already achieved the 1:1 ratio or at least got very close. Pete EDIT: Your Lamborghini SV Aventator figure is incorrect, should be 1hp for 2+kg's: http://www.lamborghini.com/en/models/aventador-lp-750-4-superveloce/technical-specifications/
Absolutely love it. Seating position like a f1 car. Reclined with feet above hips will be most unique interior since mac f1 central seat. Hope it gets made even if performance claims are pie in sky
No reverse gear to save weight! Uses the kers power boost for reverse. How cool is that? we need our jim g to give his opinions on it
It might get some kind of hybrid system if mechanics won't work. There will be no twin-clutch gearbox, thats for certain. The transmission is a key area of research. The current DCTs are just monsters, they weigh 150kg-plus, and are tremendously bulky, scoffs Newey. The concept of the car is small and light. So were researching exactly how well do the transmission. Were homing in on a solution but its going to be tricky. What about hybrid augmentation? Clearly hybrids offer a lot of opportunities. But were researching those, or whether we can do it purely mechanically. Stop what you're doing: it's the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 | Top Gear
