I saw this earlier. It must be the 650s replacement. I think it looks much better than the current super series.
From the front the rear fender arch looks similar. Otherwise quite different, and quite a substantial improvement in direction over the 650S.
Side view mirrors look bulky - At the moment looks like an Alien baby hopefully the production version will fair better
I would agree, it's not a Ferrari clone, but this 1 line is cribbed from the 458, amazingly enough I would have thought they would avoid something as prominant as that.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
It does have 4 wheels. And it is designed with aerodynamic lines. I don't think it looks like the 458 at all. My wife would not even be confused... well maybe if they were both painted red.
It's awful. I looked at it for a few minutes and tried with it. No, it is not nice in my view. I liked the 12C (and bought one) disliked the 650 because if felt like, here was a new designer trying to stamp his authority on the brand by putting a new face over an existing car, giving mixed lines and language. This new car suggests to me that I just don't see what he sees (no doubt he's right and I'm not, but my opinion will determine what I buy, so...) The front is new and ugly. The rear is a derivative of the 570, making one of that car's lesser feature look worse. The side profile emphasises the cab-forward look of all mid engined cars too much, it apes the 458 on the three-quarter panel and tried to squeeze in some P1 rear of the front wheel arch. It is unbalanced and unattractive in the extreme. What a shame, and very disappointing.
McLaren will always be a Ferrari wannabe, everytime Ferrari releases a car, the week after they release another special edition car equal to the previous one with 5 hp more, this is why depreciation is so terrible, market is aware of the bad McLaren policy..every model is obsolete in 6 months due rob their awful releasing scheduling.. they are terrified by Ferrari and the day Ferrari will make all carbon tub production cars they will have nightmares.
mclaren probably tried to be less boring but that 'P14' design looks extremely messy and boring at the same time
That's more than a bit off-base. McLaren resale is bad because they produced too many cars relative to the demand, not every city has a dealership (which makes it more difficult for service and thereby deters secondhand buyers), and it's a new, unknown quantity. But with all that said they've been able to produce some very high performing and unique cars with innovative thinking that have made a lot of buyers happy. They're not Ferraris but they're more than credible alternatives. If anything, having more players in the market will force everyone to raise their game, including Ferrari. The buyer wins.
