I've decided to pull the trigger. This will be my next car. Are there any Corniche owners here? Would love to pick your brain. I've set a wide net. I'm looking for a black car from '77 to '89. First choice is "creme" interior. Second is saddle. I would settle for a decent triple black car. I've looked at several over the last few months. I've come close to buying, but haven't found "her" yet. Would love to get an owner's perspective. This is one I was looking at over the past week. I had to pass. Too many issues, but would have been perfect with some much needed work. So sad. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Chris,be sure to talk with Aaron,he was in Ohio..he knows the RR very well. You do know they can knock a hole in an unlimited budget,so your homework efforts will pay dividends..I'd keep an eye on BAT too. One sold there not too long ago,for fair $$ but it had some issues, which most will..just depends, which issue will hurt or the one that can be waved away. Brakes I've heard, suspension too can send one for a new line of credit.. In your hood there just might be a plethora of availability, but look out for sharks...like I need to say that! Good luck with your search..Cheers RE
Thanks! I actually just passed on the one in the picture above because I could feel that something wasn't right with the suspension. It felt like the hydraulic struts in the rear were bad. It also had a host of other issues, but the suspension problems were a deal killer. The search goes on...
I'm really curious: why the Corniche? I'm asking this, because I'm obsessed with 80s/90s RRs. But mostly the Silver Spirit/Spurs. The Corniche, as you know, is a "generation behind" the SS, while selling during the same time period. But I can't argue the look of the car is utterly classic (and fantastic).
I live right up the street and saw the car a while ago there. It's a brown, carbureted car. Nice, but not my thing.
I love it too. one of my weird car fetishes. try these guys. maybe I can be persuaded to drive it to you Sales & Restoration of Classic Automobiles

I'm just drawn to that car. It has a sense of occasion. And at 3 times the weight of my Elise & Exige, it's something different to play with on the weekends... for when I want to waft instead of canyon carve.
Doesn't seem like there is any real difference between the two, other than the grille and flying lady. Does the Constinental have a stiffer suspension or anything else to differentiate it from the Corniche?
Besides cosmetic changes nothing else differentiates them. Only Mulsanne S offered an actual technical change, slightly stiffer suspension, faster steering rack and engine upgrade. Btw, Heritage is trying to sell my Dad's Bentley S1 on consignment but market for these cars is very weak. Good people though.
Might check w/Agapiou across the street. Good for service & PPI - may be able to refer you to a nice car ...? Charles Agapiou, Ltd. - Rolls-Royce and Bentley Service and Sales - Land Rover Service
I found my perfect car in Canada: black over a pale yellow interior. Don't know if the hassle importing it to California is worth it though. Used 1990 Rolls-Royce Corniche For Sale | Oakville ON
Flash, many CDN in the area of this dealership. Car has been there a while now. If it's a CDN car, it wouldn't be an issue to bring it into California since its 25 yrs old.
