What happened with the U-boat and it's commander?
    Where is the Bug now?
    Still at the salvage yard?
    What about the court case?

Last I heard, they settled out of court with no disclosure. I assume the insurance company ended up with the car, but I have no way of confirming that.

And to think I almost bought a Heritage Ford from him. Until I googled its VIN number on the Ford GT Forum and discovered it had been badly wrecked AND he was the U Boat commander.

Oh yeah, forgot about that he said, no big deal.

Clear Car Fax so that tells you those things aren't worth the paper they are written on...

Apparently, the insurance company had some holes in its case. What I'm not sure. Sometimes you're the bug. Sometimes you're the windshield.

Surprising. I have seen from the edges a few similar cases with insurance companies. Usually in my experience they just write a check, take the car and put the guy on the "never again" list unless they have a slam dunk air tight case with the Pope as an eye witness.

He's also the guy that brought the Eddie Griffin/David Sadek Enzo to market on eBay, actively denying the the provenance.

The case got written up in the local papers. The insurance company wrote a 7 figure check then sued for fraud. (The U Boat commander had a partner.) If someone wants to search, I'm sure the original petition is out there on the WWW. Then on the eve of trial, the parties settled and everybody road off into the sunset. That's all I know.
