been taking a look through some pics of prior Bugatti sedan design ideas, and of course well known photos of the Galibier concept such a long gestation period, but with the demise of the Maybach line, I wonder if this will come to light of day at all? still, the Galibier is not that 'great' looking IMO, but certainly better than the earlier EB112 renditions Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I assume it will end up costing twice as much as an R-R Phantom or Ghost...in which case who in their right mind would want it?
The value just isn't there. I saw a Rolls Ghost today and that pretty much just blended in with every other car on the road. These ultra expensive cars might be worth it to people with endless money but I just don't see why they are 10x the price of an S class.
I'd like to see more than a grill thrown on. Every car seems to all look a like now. Jeeps all have the same front end. Lexus now. A lot of the domestics too. The Veyron isn't gorgeous, but it's cool. For the cost of this car, make it a masterpiece.
Some where there is am Arabian oil king or prince that has already contracted one to be made in chrome purple.
If that Bagwan Basheesh that had the religious compound up in Washington State was still around, maybe he would have bought 30 or 40 of them in all the colors of the rainbow. I just don't see it. Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and --- this... I think a Maybach had more class.
Is it me or does the new Rolls Royce Ghost look like a Chrysler 300? ... put some sucide doors on the 300 and the flying lady grille and you got a ghost. As for Bugatti - I read in Evo yesterday there is controversy over if they should do a new type of Veyron or do the Galbier - what ever it will be will have 1500 HP... I whish they would do the Chiron concept car with the W18 - only the back end needed more help... the Galbier is much better looking that the other sedan types. the folks who are buying a Bugatti dont drive anywhere where they need to carry luggage etc.... that goes on the jet, yacht etc.... its just for fun.
Always liked that Ital Design car. The other one looks like an appliance from the front and the rest is pure German current-production styling. I agree with others, a Bug saloon should look truly exceptional. The demise of Maybach was expected. It was too fugly and too much Merc DNA. Best, Jack
Everyone IS aware that this basic design has been rattling around for years? It was first introduced at the Geneva Auto Show in 1993 as a concept by Giugiaro. Same shape, same front grille, same split rear window, same everything. Yes, by Giugiaro - but not one of his best...and it is 20 years old now.
horrible they just launch gaudy paint schemes and some more unnecessary horsepower Bugatti=design wasteland good ideas<0
to me this new design looks like a hybrid between a panamera and some sort of audi crossover...that said, i dont like it. the veyron has gotta transform into something more fierce. with all that power i have always thought that even the veyron lacked the proper sporty look. almost too luxury and not enough exoticism for 1k hp... i think bugatti should stray away from the classiness of the veyron for something more agressive while still keeping the signature bugatti features... agree with spirot that a chiron would be a better progression for bugatti.
They need to make a Royal type of car. Big, ultra luxurious, powerful, yet smooth. But there can be no mistake it's a Bugatti. Build to order, and no 2 can be the same. Customers pick everything..options, exterior trim levels, interior trims and colors, dash layout the whole nine yards. Each dealer would get a mock-up for the show room that could be configured to the buyers taste in a matter of hours.
100% agree with this. They should just present a chassis and have each coachbuilt. But corp control would never allow this anymore. There are builders out there, and the well heeled do, on occassion, do this already with other chassis.
As James pointed out, these aren't new designs. The EB112 is a concept car from 1993. 16 years before the Panamera saw the light of day.
Actually I like this idea. Keep the Bugatti grille - and logos, and then have the atellier be a design studio - customer works with the designer and then they can print a 1/10 scale model for the owner to look at & check... and keep that on display. using a laser sintering 3 d printer.
Last I heard the Galibier is DOA Think Bug is working on Veyron 2.0 Lets hope they make it attractive this time
