Great biz move on Ferrari's part. Assuming they price the warranties right based on their claims forecasting, they will be able to grow another profitable revenue stream to offset reduced new car production, and give buyers on the resale market as well as original-owners an opportunity to buy "peace of mind" which should further support resale values.

Well, it's also 3 years in Canada so I suspect the blame falls onto FNA. It's a North America thing.

Perhaps what FNA is doing is simply matching the warranties offered by their competition in NA, offering 1 year less in warranty to lower their operating costs. Shipping parts from the EU to NA does also cost more in shipping, exchange rates and tariff charges.

The point of matter is not how long a carmaker offers a warranty.
The point of matter is the price, the warranty will cost, and the parts which are covered.
What damages can I pay on my own if I keep the car 12 years and paid 8 years for the extended warranty with maximum cover? I assume this would be a new or reconditioned engine.
Well, maby this makes sence for the 'old' Cali, assuming there will be the variators (15.000$), the roof (50.000$) and the DCT (20.000$). Did I miss somethin'? :)

Doubt it would cover the roof past initial 3 years
