Need advice on paint protection. Is it recommended? Any drawbacks? Just the front or the entire car? Suntec, xpel or else? Cost of front and entire car? Trust the dealer to do it? If so has anyone experienced miller (CT dealer) quality? Thanks.

I had the entire car covered in Suntek, including the headlight covers. Having it removes all anxiety about rock chips and hearing things bounce off the tires when driving. My dealer sent it over to a specialist to install, who also installed UV film for the windows to cut heat in the car. Cost was about $5,000. Mine is Argento Nurburgring, and the film gives a nice additional shine layer. When you or your detailer clean it just need to be mindful of cleaning the edges in a parallel wipe, no other downside. You will notice some edges (mirrors especially) but I'd rather have the protection myself. The self healing aspect is amazing. Really allows me to have it as a DD and not be concerned. One of my other thoughts on covering the entire car was continuity of color over time. Since the film has UV protection, I was not sure if over a few years of parking outdoors at work if the underlying and exposed paint colors might have a minor difference. Perhaps they would not, and perhaps a good paint correction treatment would get them back to matching if they did change, but with full coverage I have removed that concern. Others may be able to speak to that without the conjecture I have...

I'm also inquiring on this. Miller MC said they may have a place in LI for Xpel, I will know more when I get closer to delivery.
I had a website that rated a few different protection brands,, I just can't find the link anymore.
I have Xpel on the vette I picked up and it is not noticeable at all, I had another brand protection on my previous 430 & you could tell esp at the edges... I def want to avoid that.

I went with the recommendations of some very experienced installers, could be their personal preference. I can't speak to a detailed produce comparison, however Expel and Suntek are acknowledged to both be excellent products.

I agree with udaverea. Wrap the whole car. I did it on my Cali and my 458. Removes all anxiety. At the AZ Ferrari, they use suntek which is fantastic. Many folks on here have xpel which may be a tad better. Regardless of which you choose, it is virtually undetectable. If you can wrap the windshield, I would do that too. They won't allow it in AZ but I know others have done it as well

Good advice. Thanks. How much did you pay for the entire wrap?

Do Sutek and do the entire car if you are willing to spend the money. You wont be disappointed and you'll be more relaxed knowing you have that added layer of protection!

Don't think you can go far wrong with either Xpel or Suntek self healing films. I'm going for whole wrap on mine when it comes. I'll leave it to my installer to decide which is best at the time. They've wrapped my previous cars and trust their judgement.

As proud sponsors of FerrariChat, the Ferrari Club of America, and the National Ferrari Club meet in August during Monterey Car Week, we want to make sure that you receive the very best in paint protection film as not all films are created equal.

For the amount of coverage it varies based on the car, and the owner. On ANY Ferrari we would recommend the entire front end, and rocker panels. These are the most high impact areas on the car. That said, we have dozens of Ferrari owners each year wrap their entire car.

As labor rates vary from state to state, and installer to installer we cannot give an exact quote, but we can give an approximate range.
For full frontal protection you can expect $1,795 - $2,095 range. For full car it varies based on the model of the car but usually $4,500 - $8,000. This also varies based on using ULTIMATE, or STEALTH (matte finish) film.

Half the battle with any clear bra paint protection installation is the installer itself. Take the time to call around and find the best installer in your area. A lot of dealers work directly with the great installers in the area so I would talk to your dealer first. That way you can get it all done in one place and have it done before even taking delivery of the vehicle.

If you're curious about the process here is a link to an installation video on a 458 Spider from Austin, TX.

I also think the other half of the battle is the environment of the installation; meaning some dealer shops are dusty, it gets under the film, often doors open, bringing temp changes, and even more dust/difficulty for the installers. For me, I only have Xpel installed at the installers place, if they make a mistake, they can recut pre-sized new film on the spot, and sometimes film quality can vary with each batch. I just did my complete car and windshield, the last three days; the preparation, patience, eagle eye, and attitude of installers is critical. Lastly, our Ferrari factory paint quality is difficult to hide any imperfections.
