I noticed my driver's side mirror is rotated off-center when in the locked position. If I fold the mirrors in and back out again it returns to the same angle. The passenger side is off by a tiny amount, but nothing like this. I'm not sure if it was like this when I bought the car and didn't notice, or if it got knocked out of alignment somehow...

Does anyone know if this is something that can be adjusted easily, or does it require disassembling the mirror?

I have heard about this, but don't know a solution for preventing it. My dealer's pick up my car guy who has worked for them for years told be to keep the mirrors out or they can mis-align. I bet its an expensive fix if warranty is expired. I took that to mean, when parked in the garage, keep your mirrors out and extended and not closed in. (I need to retract them when pulling into garage). Previously I was leaving the mirrors in the folded position on my 2014 458 when in the garage. No longer.

I wish someone would chime in..I don't think this issue is restricted just to California's...

On the first generation Cali, the drivers side mirror was out of alignment with the stalk.

I asked the service center and was told this is 'normal'

I pointed out the fact that the passenger side is aligned. Yep is what they said.

I then inspected several other Cali's which all had the same misalignment of drivers side mirror. Of course this small misalignment has absolutely no effect on the viewing performance of the side mirror. It's purely a cosmetic glitch.

(If you are experiencing a different problem then that can be fixed)

My 2012 FF has mirror alignment issues as you have all described. Drivers side worse than passenger side. It does seem that there is a detent of some sort but I can’t figure out how to adjust it. Did anyone find a fix given this seems common on the FF and California? @RickLederman @ttforcefed

Unfortunately I have not found a fix. Both my driver's side and passenger side mirrors are slightly out of alignment. My mechanic told me that this is very common but not easy to fix. Something about resetting the sensor which determines how far out/in the mirror goes. So I have just put up with it. If someone finds a way I would be keen to fix it.

I'm picky and my '17 Cali T has the same issue. My dealer said no fix. I was surprised! #1stWorldProblems
