I have seen some guys going with 22" rear and 20" front. I know the norm is 22"/21" so I am wondering if there would be any issues with performance, cosmetics, etc. with the 2" difference front to rear??

As long as you keep the front to rear wheel diameter difference within reason there's no issue. The diameter of rim is not an issue, the diameter of the tyres are.

Finding tyres in that size is a little tricky though.

You can go with 335/25R22 and 245/35R20 or 255/35R20 of course, but you may run into issues with the traction control and ABS system as the front to rear tyre diameter difference is much greater than stock.

Diameter wise the ideal size is 255/35R20 and 315/25R22, but that combo seems not to be an option as nobody seemingly makes such a combo. Note that if you find a set in this size, it will not look good, as the fronts will have a much higher tyre profile than the rears.
