Had a great night driving my car. Pulling in to park, hit the curb, not good. It was made of granite and chewed up the rim.

Can I buy just one rim, or do they come in sets of four?

Has anyone bought parts off a wrecked Ferrari site?

What's the best thing to do when you trash a rim?

    So bummed.

Try Exoticar Auto in Florida. They appear to do all kinds of great work on Ferraris. Contact is: [email protected]. Your wheel doesn't look so bad that it is not repairable.

Thanks. I reached out to my closest dealer, but I also sent a message to Chris. So bummed. Pulled in very slow, and barely touch it.

Those granite curbs are killer. I just did that to my brand new Jaguar Friday night. Was cursing like a sailor. Offended some nearby nuns. Glad I got the wheel repair insurance on that one. Taking it in Thursday. Couldn't get it on the F-car : )

They can make it look new again, especially if it's a painted rim. Basically, they will sand and polish it smooth, then refinish it. You would be surprised how much better you can make it look with some fine-grained sandpaper. Smooths right out. If it's really gouged I think they can use something like bondo on it to bring it level again and then refinish it.

The ones on my Cali have that machined finish on them and that's harder to repair, but there are shops that can handle it.

I know the feeling. The cars are wider than one thinks!! I also had a bit of kerb rash, turns out it can be repaired relatively easily.

Thats a bummer - you can certainly buy JUST ONE wheel. We can help source it for you and ship it out if need be. There are also a lot of local wheel repair places that can repair that as well! I would try that route first!

If it were me, I'd definitely go for the repair. I bought my 360 with a few wheel dings that I was willing to overlook, but the seller had already scheduled it for tires and a rim refinish at Boardwalk Ferrari before I picked it up. Very pleasantly surprised how perfect it looked when I picked it up. Since then I've always thought I would do that again if needed. Of course you need to find a shop with a good reputation, but I'd have to guess that a good repair will be cheaper than even a slightly less than perfect used one, assuming you could even find one.

I took it to a shop, they said they couple repair, it would look perfect. They said I would not be able to tell. Because of the painted rims and aluminum they sent it to a couple they work with. The bad news is they said it was too deep, they cannot repair it. They cannot build up the aluminum.

At this point I believe it cannot be repaired.

I called the closes Ferrari dealer and they quoted $4700 for a front rim.

I have found 2 sets of rims one new $5995 458 rims. brand new. This is from on of the sponsors here on the board. Very helpful, very responsive.

I also found a used (100 miles) set of rims with tires. Exact same diamond cut (might be a different color gray). They are $5700. He said thy came from a California T that was bought in for custom tires.

I would rather buy one rim that matches.

The car is basically new, it has 1800 miles. I hate having trashed rim. So I want it fixed quickly.

My thought is others mess up rims, I could maybe sell the other rims (over time) at $1K a rim.

I want this solved by end of day Friday, so I will see if they someone comes up with a single rim.

I will keep the board posted.

Those are the "20 Sport Forged Diamond Rims" from the California 30, they were a $7709 option on my car.

I believe the 458 rim will fit but the offset is slightly different, may need a spacer.

I would try someplace else for the wheel repair first. I gouged the heck out of my 20" Jaguar front rim and they fixed it yesterday, I can't even tell and it looked a lot worse than yours. Same finish, too, polished on the face and painted on the inside of the spokes. Ask the Ferrari dealer whom they use to repair the rims and contact that guy. Or the local Porsche dealer, etc.

I took the rim to a Maserati, Aston Martin, Bentley Dealer. They sent to a specialist.

Is the Jaguar rim aluminum? Can you share what the repair cost?

They removed the tire, sent the rim out, and the firm had my rim, they did not just look at images. They said that after they sand it down they lose too much aluminum. They can't build it back up.

Who did you use? I'm happy to ship the rim to a repair location.

I did by a new set. I just can't stand seeing a new car with big gash in the rim.

Now I will repair this or sell the rims individually to others that have one rim to replace.

It's a big bummer, but I should have new rims one it pretty fast.

Aluminum, yes, with the dark grey and diamond finish. It was done by whomever the dealership has come in weekly to do it onsite, not sure of the cost or if they do work outside of the dealership -- I bought the tire and rim warranty with the car -- but I would guess around $250-300.

You're in Minneapolis? Call Cauley Ferrari in Michigan, they had a guy in Detroit who could refinish the diamond California rims which the guy local to my Ferrari dealer could not do. Hopefully they will share the name of the company.

I have used Exoticar for Aston and Ferrari wheels and they do a great job of refinishing at very reasonable prices too. Those wheels can definitely be refinished but the tires should be dismounted for best results. I saw their work on BMW and Mercedes wheels. Do
not be put off by the location and appearance of their setup. Their work is first rate.

I wanted to see how my car would look with new rims. So I mocked up an image. I personally really like it.

Hopefully they will sow up soon.

i have those on my cali, nice rim sporty and stylish. they were an 8 k option. you can probably get a nice set of aftermarket rims for much less. but if you go with these you will not be disappointed.
