I have a 2011 Ferrari California, and the right passenger mirror is horrible at detecting cars in my right blind side. Any recommendations from the community?

I don't want a ghetto looking side view mirror stick-on though.

My feeling is: it's a Ferrari, they should all be looking out for you!

I have a 2015. I have no trouble with blind spots. But I'm old school and still look over to left or right before I change lanes.

How long have you been driving the car? You may need more time to adjust to the car. Regardless of the car sometimes it helps to turn your head to check around the C-pillar. I haven't had any problems.

My other suggestion is to just drive with the roof down and use your neck. :D Side mirrors are not as good as turning your neck to check. Just make sure you're at a safe distance from the car in front when you do that... and try not to rush your lane change.

I see this all the time (car enthusiasts included). Majority of people set their mirrors such that they can see the flanks to theirs cars, which is not the right way to set the mirrors.

That's interesting. So, it looks like you want to move side mirrors a little further out, so you don't see the side of your own car. I'll have to try that the next time... in the wife's SLK! 😀 Then, the Cali, if that works. Thanks for posting.

Two weeks into the Cali ownership experience, I find the sight lines to be quite food while driving. Of course, as someone pointed out, having the to down helps.

Yes, I see this all the time, too. Almost without exception, every rental car has them set wrong. But for those who track their cars, it's almost inexcusable. If you don't set them the SAE way per the C&D article, you can't see the faster cars approaching from your flanks. And yes, in street driving you should also turn your head for a glance over your shoulder.

I learned something new today =) This whole time I never knew that was the proper way to have your sideview mirrors.

Thanks to the Ferrari Chat community!!

Ditto. Rearranged the mirrors on my wife's SLK yesterday. It's a bit disconcerting, but so far, so good. Thanks!

Trade it in on a Testarossa. How do you like those blind spots now?

Yes, adjust your mirrors correctly. Also, unless your neck is immobilized - use it !!

Only negative is that the adjusted mirrors don't show the curb when backing up.

Does anyone know if Cali passenger side mirror tilts down while backing up? My wife's SLK and my 997.2S do this...T

I think most cars do this today. With one notable exception ... Hahahaha.

    I'm not following.

Cool. Off to read the manual I go! That'll give me one more thing to test out when I drive it next. Thank you.

While in reverse you can adjust the mirror tilt and then press the seat memory button until you hear a beep to save your preferred position as well.

Hey Brumma - are you saying to use two seat memory buttons, the first to remember the regular seat/mirror position while in drive and the second to remember it while in reverse? Brilliant!

I re-read the manual yesterday and didn't see anything addressing a auto side mirror adjustment while in reverse feature, but this solves that problem nicely.

Or are you saying use the same seat memory button for both forward and reverse?

Same button you used to set your forward seat/mirror positions. It will then position automatically when you engage reverse.
