ONE STICKY SWITCH

The professional detailers clean the greasy switches with steam cleaners, using a gentle stream first and than wiping them down with a microfiber towel. Cleaned that way switches are rejuvenated and become non greasy to the touch.

There are some small portable steam cleaners which might do the job.

 

Dilute 99% alcohol 50% with distilled water and use that with a soft cloth. Note, when you remove the clear soft touch, the coating below will be very glossy.

That is very cool. One of those things that it never would have occurred to me would have to be done, but nice to know there is a place that can do it.
