Major debate in the household whether to paint the calipers yellow or not . Ferrari of Newport Beach , CA did the work and I love the results Also tinted the windows and put a ceramic clear heat film on the windshield. This was a awesome addition. Cut down on the heat substantially! Clear bra and skids plates added as well. Brian at Newport Beach Ferrari was great to deal with. If you are in the area I highly recommend him Image Unavailable, Please Login
The aventador is not too shabby either ! When I was getting the car from the valet, the guy behind me said that's a great looking car to his friend, his friend says "oh, that's the cheap Ferrari " Cheap is a relative term I guess Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gorgeous! Any interior pics for us to drool over? Don't let the haters get ya down. In three months of Cali ownership, the haters have been greatly outnumbered by the thumbs up, horn tooting, friendly wave crowd...T
Meanwhile the friend walked to the bus stop and you stepped in your Ferrari..I think your doing pretty good! You've got a beautiful car, enjoy the hell out of it
Must admit I'm with those in you household that voted "No". Coloured calipers tend to subtract and divert the eyes from the car and its lines.
I have black calipers on my nero non metallic Cali but I also like very much the yellow ones because of the contrast they create specially with the surrounding dark colors. There was a time I thought about painting my Cali's calipers yellow but I gave up because several specialists I consulted for advice were unanimous telling me not to do so. First they said that I would devaluate the car because the painted ones are not original. They also mentioned to me the fact that it doesn't matter how well painted or coated calipers are, they always tend to discolor with time due to the high temperatures generated by the brakes. After hearing this advice from such a group of knowledgeable and experienced technicians I decided not to risk painting the calipers. How long have you had yours painted ? Have you noticed any discoloration ?
Interior shot Just had the brake calipers done a few days ago They were taken off the vehicle and powder coated. Then new Ferrari logos applied Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agonized over the choice when speccing my 2015 Cali T in TDF blue. Ultimately decided to go with yellow and could not be happier. The contrast receives many complements although perhaps moreso from casual car fans rather than Ferrarista. At the end of the day if you can distance yourself from fears of impacting resale value just go for what fits your eye and makes you happen. I tend to buy and hold for many years so resale does not fctor heavily into my equations. As they say...."your results may differ".... Enjoy your new ride! Mike g.
This. When I specced my 599 GTO, I wanted yellow calipers. The factory Atelier said I shouldn't. The GTO was to be Ferro with a matte Silverstone roof, carbon fibre part-painted sills and Grigio wheels. I was disappointed, I really fancied yellow calipers. The Atelier gently smiled and told me to look at the configurator with one eye closed and to use my fingertips to cover the wheels. Then open the eye and drop the fingertips. I couldn't believe the difference. I changed instantly to Aluminium coloured calipers. The Atelier's point was exactly the point made by DK. Yellow calipers distract the eye, your eye is inevitably drawn to the wheels not the body. Which for the Atelier meant less not more. ETTO.
I was waiting for a friend at a mall a couple of years ago and a guy walked up to me, looked at my car and said he really likes it. He mentioned he rides in his friend's Aventador but that he much preferred the Cali. Said the Aventador was "just too much". Here's a shot I took on that occasion - yellow calipers. Congratulations yours is probably the best looking Cali I've ever seen and I mean it. The interior is all cuoio like my Cali and thats 'y absolute favorite and the contrast with the car color looks absolutely perfect like one of Michelangelo Divine creation. PS- What's the color name ?
Really nice spec, Michael! Bianco Fuji? I love the yellow calipers on my grigio titanio car but the art director in me is a little put off by the difference in shade between the calipers, wheel caps and the shields. I should put the carbon shields on there. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Vjd3, love your Cali in Titanio. My 430 was that color. That's a great color. It's hard to find that color on Cali. Mine is Silverstone. I also love those wheels. I am considering buying those but I'd then have a set of wheels I'd have to sell or store.
I've had a cali and now a cali T (in titanio) both with yellow calipers. i also have a 488 spider coming (titanio) also with yellow calipers. it makes the car pop and picks up on the yellow shields. great combo and nice contrast. yours is beautiful
To quote Paris Hilton (is she famous still?!? 😉... That's hot! Major congrats. That's beautiful...T
