Just got my 16 Cali T. I knew this before I bought it, but it sounds like my yard man's truck! Anybody put on an after market exhaust system? I'd so, how do you like it.

Tom, this car is unbelievable compared to my 12 Cali. Smoother, faster, just a pleasure to drive. I never thought there could be this much difference in the two cars. They say the entire car was changed, and Wow , it's a fun ride. People are gonna laugh, but I kinda like this better than my 2010 458. Glad I did it. You only live once and you can't take it with you!

If you want sound, buy a F360 and put a Tubi system on it.

Not an expert but someone posted about this

Before purchasing the aftermarket exhaust, the Ferrari dealer can just open up the exhaust.

    Idk how loud that is...

Try putting a Forza controller on it first. You might like the sound if the valves are open all the time.

This is the reason for getting HS. It has factory improved exhaust sound.

However, if I was buying an aftermarket exahaust, I think the Fabspeed sounded the best.

Hi! Was there a sport exhaust option in the older Cali 30? If yes, any markings to distunguish? Exhaust looked stock OEM to me.

I got a very low mileage 2014 Cali 30 with HS package and it sounded A LOT louder and more typical Ferrari than the Cali T with HS that the dealer had. Of course the T looks sleeker side by side

But even compared to a non 30 older Cali in the garage, it seems louder as well. Or Cali30 with HS package made the sound louder (and nicer)?

Then compared with an F430 in the same garage, the Cali 30 with HS sounded almost as nice as the F430 although not as "scandalous".

    Thanks!

Don't you have the HS already? Does opening the exhaust just leave the valves open all the time?

I don't agree, T and the 488 are pure rocket ships. The T sounds better than 30 we had. I have heard the 488 does't sound good as 458.

It's a well know fact that turbo cars, even if they are Ferrari, don't sound nearly as good as a NA V8 or V12.

Actually, turbos spooling adds a distinct sound that you can't get with a NA engine. The cats have to be either gone or high flow to hear it but it's a nice sound. Now on a Ferrari you won't find too many that have done it but there is a guy in the 488 forum that has a custom built exhaust with no cats. The sound is awesome, way better than the 458 IMO.

As to the performance improvement with the turbo, the NA can't touch it. I prefer the turbo cars with louder exhaust systems myself.

Last year I did a comparison test sound side by side between an aspirated Cali I had equipped with the Capristo exhaust and a Cali T. The Cali T sound was very much on the bass frequencies and my Cali's sound with the Capristo exhaust valves in auto was evidently covering a much wider frequency with bass to treble. With the valves opened manually the sound of my Cali reached a different level, was louder but also much more pure and both myself and the Cali T owner agreed in the end that was one of the best V8's we've listen to.

Apples and oranges when you compare a turbo Ferrari with no cats and a exhaust against a stock NA V8 or V12 Ferrari. Have you heard a 458 with headers, no cats and exhaust? Pure F1 music and unequivocally superior to a forced induction engine
