Congrats! Should be a 2018. How long did it take between when you got the second picture and the third picture?

Thanks I thought so too 2018 but dealer was not sure.

2nd to 3rd pic about 1.5 weeks. Seems like they wanted to get it out before recess.

Why do manufacturers give cars model designations for the year after they are produced?
I think the practice came from the US and is surely just marketing ?

So you guys in UK have no model year? A Cali manufactured in 2015 would be in the same league as the one manufactured in 2017 in terms of price? How is depreciation calculated in UK then? Very curious please enlighten me.

Over here a car's life begins when it's sold to its first owner. One can also find out the manufacturing date through VIN. There is no legal obligation, nor practice, to reference a model year. Model year is the designation that manufacturers give to US bound cars and is based on production date (usually a car produced in the 2nd half of the year gets a designation of the next calendar year - i.e. a car built in October 2016 is MY 2017). Such a thing doesn't exist in Europe.
