    Hi,

Been a while since I've been on here, but I want to start looking at taking out my car in a few months and would need to know of a mechanic that can work on my 84 Ferrari Mondial Cabrio at a reasonable price and that is trust worthy. I don't mind leaving him the car or having him work at my place and he can take his time, it does not need to be a rush job.

Hopefully you guys can help. I really want to drive the car this summer.

yes there is a guy named Elan if I remember correctly, call Steve Maman at "the prancing horse" and he'll give you his number.

I have not personally used him other then a p.p.i on a testarossa and that was about 5 years ago now....

    CHEERS!

In June '08 you sent me the names of two mechanics in the Montreal area. Have they both left the area or did you determine that they are not competent?

I have heard horror stories about Steve Maman and the Prancing Horse in Montreal. I was told by Ferrari of Quebec to stay away from them.

Elan has nothing to do with Steve, he's totally independent from anyone.

My apologies, I didn't mean to give the impression that they were linked. My post was exclusively about Steve Maman and the Prancing Horse in Montreal (not to be confused with the Prancing Horse in BC if it still exists)

Mr. Luigi Della Grotta was the official dealer for many years ("Luigi Sports Cars") and became independant a few years ago. He set up a new shop on the Laurentian Blvd (?)... I don't know if he's still around, but I'd check him out if I were you.

Yes, there is a "Prancing Horse" garage here, in North Vancouver, run by Mr. Joseph Philipovich (sp?).

anyone know anyone ferrari quebec spoke positively about in the market of ferraris ????

anyone that is not ferrari quebec is bad, sells cars that fell in lakes, flooded, crashed, usa import, etc...

acemaster, the #'s are what talk. all the rest is bs.

i am at 1443 exotic cars, and there are a real 700 + ferraris in there.

i think that is about 4x what ferrari quebec sold , and they hold the banner !

please , think hard before writing things that can turn the thread into a fight between us.

horror stories , there arent any. only hearsay, rumors, and jealous people trying to damage our rep so they can sell cars !

Well if it makes you feel any better the ratio of horror vs. good stories for your company are 1:1 (or 50-50) while Ferrari Quebec are more like 9 bad to 1 good...

    :)

Hopefully I'll be able to work on Ferrari's one day. With a few more years of experience as a technician I will maybe make it. But to get your way in the exotic car business doesn't look easy. Not only you need to be good, you need to have contacts...

In this day and age of the car world , new shop failure rate is about 95 %. the cost of rent, shop tools , pay checks and all other bills that come with running any business. it's not easy running your own buisiness. good luck to all who try.

One is too busy and working full time plus OT at Auto Bugatti, the other tried to screw me once and that was the end for me. He was a good mechanic, but not honest.

I use a guy called Ralph Mastromonaco of Monaco Prestige. While he focuses on ferraris, he is very knowledgeable with other exotic cars. He is very honest and very meticulous. Has his own very cleanplace in ville st-laurent, where I store my baby in the winter. This guys is world class and i trust him 100%. Highly recommended!

Hi Steve! Are you still located on Newman?

About a good mechanic I heard good comments about EK Performance located on Henri-Bourassa just in front of Luciani Acura.

My plug: for anyone looking for an excellent body shop I know a guy who can do everything, he used to work for Mercedes-Benz and now has his own shop.

You could come with any wrecked exotic and they will fix it perfectly ...

    hi Effer
I will drop by and take a look at EK Performance and suggest you do the same with Ralph at Monaco Prestige. He is just off Henri Bourassa, corner Hwy 13. The guy was recommended to me by a bunch of Ferrari owners that i know. I had always said that I would not own a Ferrari because it was too expensive to maintain. They proved me wrong and he must be the best kept Ferrari-mechanic secret in Montreal!

So much for being the "best kept secret" in Montreal.
    No longer.
