This is a head's up about this year's show in North Vancouver.

It all starts back towards the beginning of this year. The City of North Vancouver dropped the ball and gave out a permit to a festival group for the South Lawn at Waterfront park for Father's Day... It's a very long story, but like most governmental offices, one person was replacing a worker and wasn't aware of the long-standing Italian Car Show event and allowed the booking of the festival group for the south side of the park.

No use crying over spilled milk and the show will go on. Please see the attached map for the revised layout for the show.

The NORTH LAWN was still available and is the feature area of the show. It will be reserved for: Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Maserati cars. Parking for additional cars will be lined up along the south side of Esplanade up to Lonsdale. Ferrari and Maserati will be directed to SHIP BUILDERS SQUARE (accessed by St-Georges Ave), as well as the French cars.

A prominent collector will be displaying his Villa D'Este-winning Alfa Romeo 6C as well as RX Autoworks will also bring out some nice eye-candy...

Important note: This is the 25th Anniversary of this event!!! Which makes it bitter-sweet considering the city SNAFU for this year's edition. For the first 24 years, it has been solely organised by Fritz Duernberger, who is well known and long-time Alfa owner and racer (he raced back at Westwood as far back as the late '60s. A few of his Italian motorcycles were featured in the ICBC Collector calendar two years ago). As he is getting older he has stepped down and passed the torch to Ruedi Aschwanden (another long-time Alfa 2600 owner/restorer/historian-registrar). Please, when attending the show, ask around to see these gentlemen and offer thanks for putting this event together. The show has always been paid for by the Alfa Romeo/Italian Car Club, as well as past contributions from sponsors and vendors.

Taking into account the city SNAFU, next year's show will return to the South Lawn...
