I attended my first Ferrari club event yesterday, where the Alberta Chapter of FCA participated in the Calgary Vintage Sports Car Club's 27th (?) Annual European Classic Car Meet. There were roughly 28 Ferraris on show, including an F50, 599 GTO, 550 Barchetta, 246 GTS Dino, BB512i, 458 Speciale, and more.

I'd really like to thank the Ferrari Club members for welcoming me and making me feel a part of the group at my first introduction. I am really looking forward to attending more events!

Along with the Ferraris, there were other Italians, including 2 Countachs, a Maserati Mistral, a gorgeous Alfa Romeo Sprint Speciale, 2 GTVs, a few Spiders, and one Pantera. There were around 35 Porsches, over 100 VWs, a dozen Jaguars, several dozen MGs and Triumphs, etc.

I posted about 90 photos on a Wordpress gallery here: 2014 European Classic Car Meet, Calgary, July 19 | Gordon C Blog . If you scroll down and click on the picture, it opens up a slide show view of the photos.

    Here's a few highlights from the event (including my 1984 308 GTS - a highlight for me! ;) )

Great event, enjoyed attending though my car was not in the event. I did exchange waves with the owner of the 348 Spider later in the day on Macleod Tr. Unsure if he is a member on here or not.

Nice, looks like a good turn out - I like that none of the cars appear to be roped off

The owner commented that the tan dash created horrible reflections in the windshield when driving.

I wasn't feeling a lot of sympathy for someone driving a BB! :D

I'm not the owner but am the fortunate guy that drove it to and from the show while the owner drove his Fiat 500 Abarth. It really is a stunning car but yes, the light dash does create a significant reflection in the bright sunlight.

A completely original car with only 19,000km on it, it still drives like a new car. Spectacular...
