I know that OMP was the sponsor for the original seats, cage, steering wheel and fire suppression system for all years of the F355 challenge series.

Did the fire extinguisher canister change at all during those 5 years or did it keep the same shape and size?

I'd like to see photos of what your tanks look(ed) like. Got photos?

I have two tanks. Both non OMP. The large black tank currently hooked up in the trunk and is made by sabelt. I'm guessing it is the latest approved design.

The other tank I have that is extra and not hooked up is by spa design and is a smaller red tank. It was hooked up for my car's SCCA racing. It may have also been used during the challenge series in 2000+.

What did the 360 challenge cars use?

I am simply curious for originality. I'm definitely not going to put in an outdated system just for originality, but I would like to know the background.

    Thanks.

I can confirm the original set up is a single OMP cylinder, located in front of the passenger seat. Sorry no picture at the moment.

I will take a look at mine tonight. I believe it's the red bottle in your picture. I don't recall seeing any nozzles though. I wonder if it's hooked up still?

I believe OMP still makes this product (unlike the carbon kevlar seats....). You should be fine buying a new one.

I'll be visiting OMP in Italy in early April so I will see what they know!

When you visit OMP, could you see if they have any instructions on how to install a racing seat cover? I bought a new cover for an old seat, but it's not intuitively obvious how it goes on (beyond the most very basic shape...).

    Thanks.

If you can convince them to re-manufacture some 355CH seats that would be a good thing!
I am tired of scouting ebay for an hypothetical set .... they simply never show up.
I don't like unobtainium carbon kevlar seats !!!

    Erik,

That is the same as my extra (older) smaller tank which is not hooked up.

Wonder when they were used? I'll look for a date code when the car arrives in AZ.

Kevlar seats were on the 95 spec cars....

They were fibre on the 99 spec cars ... Well mine was

As these are a dated item .. It's reasonable to have a set of i date omp wrc in their place

I have currently fiber seats in my car but I doubt they are original.
I have found a video of the car racing in 99 and one car brieflu see the seats. They look like black carbon to me. An OMP logo is also visible on that top of the headrest. See pic attached.

Looks like a wrc version 1 wither the triangular belt holes as used in the 360 challenge

Will take a pic of the seat from my car ... It had no writing

This is pretty much the exact shape of my seat (very old, intend to use it for a video game seat), but I don't know how to make the cover lay down on the seat itself, do I put padding under the cover, what is the cable around the perimeter of the cover for and how/where/why does it attach, etc etc etc.... ???

    Thanks (again)!
