It's true, a 348 Challenge did best i. Competition Class. Great signe for the Challenge cars. Someone has a picture of the car?
I believe the car was a 1994 348 challenge ts (targa) delivered to Ferrari of Washington (DC) Bought by a woman for the doctor that saved her husband's life. Current owner bought it in 1998 from the Dr with 600 miles on the clock. The Dr preferred to drive his bentleys hence the low mileage. Red with black interior. no racing kit nor parts installed. no competition history I was told so I'm not sure why it would be winning this "competition" category... Would love to know the serial number to see if it ever raced based on my series records. Robb
I have all, will post it tomorrow. It got the trophy becose there where no other cars in the groupe ;-)
Here is the answer from Marcel The Scuderia Ferrari Cup (Competition Best of Show) was won by a 1994 348 Challenge car (i.e. most of the other comp cars were Exhibition Only and non-judged, and none of the other competition cars which were judged achieved the necessary Platinum status to even be considered for Best of Show, etc.). Marcel Massini
I'm guessing Phil Bachmans? He has the best, lowest mile 348c and complete kit in plastic lol. Below 1000 mile car I think.
Thanks for the info about the car. But, no history? Parts in a box??? Next he will not win again, this one is not to beat ;-) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/challenge-gt-cars/497136-ferrari-f355-challenge-104415-a.html
Marcel can get 200 + requests for info every day from around the world! Sometimes it seems the more interesting questions receive an answer first. It is crazy the number of people that chase him for details. Why not ask your question here. While Marcel is an amazing source of information he is not the only source...
It was more of a question if he even received my message to start with, it's a personal request that I've asked him.
It is a terrific car, but never had the Challenge equipment installed and never raced. Current owner obtained a complete Challenge kit some time ago and still has it in its original crate.
Sorry, for me this is not the best. Never raced, no history, never the kit installed? Dont agree, sorry...
The only cars that can be considered were the ones that were there and entered. Are you aware of a competition car there that was entered and received 97 or more points that was better?
The 348 Challenge at Cavallino was spectacular. And, the Challenge kit was definitely installed. OMP seats, roll cage, harnesses, etc. I took the following pictures. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am very familiar with 104415 and would like to see it again but until it is there, it is entered, receives a platinum and is then voted on, this is just talk.
