The only thing I am asking myself is, why arn't they just using GT3 models for the challenge? Wouldn't it be much more efficent to just build the 60 GT3 cars more instead of developing GT2 GT3 and a challenge model? As it has no chance of going road leagel anyway I don't realy know what sense is behind it. With a GT3 customers not only could race the challenge but also run in other series or is the GT3 technical much more complicatet to handle then the challenge car?

First of all yes, GT3 cars are a bit more complicated to drive than Challenge and less forgiving. But more importantly, they cost almost x2 more than the Challenge cars.

Agree, GT3 and Challenge are totaly different cars. GT3 are more hande made and much more racing cars then a Challenge. Also the price, more then double!

The GT3 spec'd properly is a bit more than twice the price, but I find the current gen GT3 cars (have not driven the 488GT3) to be actually much easier than the Challenge....

I have 30,000+ kms in a Challenge car, they are easy to drive fast, but the GT3 has much much better aero, grip, the ABS and TCS are more adjustable....the Challenge car braking system (EBD) is a weak point. GT3 costs a bit (!!) more to run in maintenance and parts

The Challenge car is great - don't get me wrong - but in the end it's a superb street car converted for racing duty. The GT3 is engineered (within the limits of the GT3 rules) to be a race car and behaves that way.

Look at the front Aero. That is going to be expensive to replace?
