"Ferrari only" Auction by RM - 9. September Maranello

RM SOTHEBY’S AND FERRARI SET STAGE FOR MOST SIGNIFICANT SINGLE-MARQUE SALE IN AUCTION HISTORY

RM Sotheby’s is thrilled to announce an historic, single-marque sale in partnership with Ferrari this coming September. Held during the legendary marque’s 70th anniversary year—an extraordinary achievement in automotive history—the auction will take place at the Ferrari Factory in Maranello, Italy – the spiritual home of the cavallino rampante.

RM Sotheby’s is the market leader in the sale of important Ferraris at auction, and the two companies have come together on numerous occasions in the past, including the 2007–2009 record-setting ‘Leggenda e Passione’ auctions, and once again in December 2016, with the charity auction of a unique LaFerrari at the Finali Mondiali at Daytona.

The 2017 Ferrari sale is set to be a world-class event, bringing together the world’s most discerning collectors and an exclusive, curated selection of the greatest sports, GT, and racing Ferraris ever built for one of the most significant sales in collector car auction history.

Anyone know if these auctions are open for the public? I am not planing to bid on any of the classic Ferrari`s that being auctioned off;-) but it would be awesome to be able to experience these cars close up during the auction. Can already feel the excitement. Will be spending 3-4 days in Maranello for this anniversary...but Heinz I assume you are going?

All major auctions are public events with admission by catalog which can usually be purchased on the door for about 50-100 bucks

Hello, yes, will be there. Agree with Greyboxer, is possible for sure and I think its worth so see the cars.

For RM it will be not easy to get good and important cars, same weekend is Chantily and Goodwood Revival.

Will be there too (the hotel in Maranello is already booked). But for the moment, I haven't any details about the way to participate to "the party" that will take place on Fiorano track I think (same as 2007 where I was :) )

If someone's got information about this, don't hesitate to tell me ;)

Do not go to the Planet in Maranello.
You may possibly try Hotel Executive in nearby Fiorano.
Believe the UNA Hotel in Baggiovara is full already.
Maranello Village as well, besides Maranello Palace, of course.
You may want to try the very small and new Villa Maranello (on Via Abetone Inferiore in Maranello).
And no, the Real Fini in the city of Modena does NOT exist anymore.
Possibly the Canalgrande in the city of Modena (but that's more of a Lambo place).

What's wrong with the Planet? It's all been redone and is geographically the best!! In any event, it is sold out as is the Villa Maranello and thé Maranello Palace and the Arthur

There is a Real Fini just off the exit of Modena Sud that is ok.

Great suggestion Heinz. How about creating a thread in the Challenge/GT section that checks out who`s going- when and where to meet? Believe "the piazza" in the citycenter is going to be a meetingpoint for the cars attending- so that could be a great place to meet up and have a nice Cavallino-chat. Just a thought...

I just got back from Modena. Stayed at the Hotel Rechigi Park, by recommendation of Valentino Balboni. It was a perfect location and a nice hotel.
