Hey fellas, I've been seeking an improvement on my auto glass cleaner. Currently, I use Eagle One 20/20 Perfect Vision. But, it's streaking and generally not cleaning up well. I'm using the correct towel, and turning it over to dry as well. Can you guys share what auto glass cleaner you use for normal duty? You know, like regular window cleaning after your car wash. Nothing "intense" for bugs and crap. Thanks in advance. Raj
I've used aircraft windshield cleaner on the 348 & the MINI with no issues. Prist Acrylic, Plastic & Glass Cleaner for Aircraft
Thanks for the recommendation! I might have to try that out. I guess I'm a little worried about "overspray" from the aerosol nozzle, but it should be pretty easy to control. Thanks again.
I also have been using Eagle One 20/20 Perfect Vision and am now disappointed. Seems like they changed something in the cleaner as now I am getting white streaks. I would also like to hear what everybody else uses.
Almost always poor results come from using too much product with a dirty towel. Before you ditch the cleaner that you already paid for, try using less with a clean micro fibre towel and see if the results improve.
Water/wet microfiber and followed by a clean dry microfiber towel. Outside vs inside different directions eg. vertical outside, inside horizontal so if you miss a spot will know in or out. Never wash a warm window and never in the sun. I'm tired of all the magic stuff! Docf
after a perfect cleaning, I always apply RainX makes the next cleaning that much easier. Griots makes a windshield polish to be applied by DA as well.Good Stuff.
Also, in doing some research, I have seen that Todd @ Esoteric sells Sonax and Stoner brands of window cleaner. I hadn't thought about Rain-X after cleaning the Ferrari. I apply Rain-X to our DD vehicles, but never applied it to the Ferrari because my Ferrari never gets rained on! Thanks for all the help!
Aside from its protective factor, if applied correctly..Rain X leaves an incredibly spotless finish.. Rain is not the only factor in using this product.
Invisible Glass has worked great for me so far. Here is the catch though: You MUST use the aerosol can version. the pump spray version stinks! When trying to remove the registration and inspection stickers, the aerosol version gets the glue right off. I tried using the pump spray version once, and I thought I was using plain water, it's horrible...... or should I say, like Windex. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's funny you mention that because I had the same experience. The pump spray is useless but the aerosol Invisible Glass is only thing I use anymore. A bit of that and a wadded up newspaper does the trick.
+2. I have been using Invisible Glass for 10 years and have absolutely no complaints. If you have a convertible, use Meguairs PlastX on the rear window to clean it up and then Plexus to maintain the look. Good luck with what you choose. Deiger
I find Wurth glass cleaner is slightly better than Stoner's invisible glass. I also like the aerosol better also
I also agree with the convertible plastic window maintenance. PlastX followed by Plexus kept the rear window in my Porsche looking brand new even after 11 years! I sold it in 2012, and it still may look brand new if the new owner followed what I told him.
Local auto parts stores (PepBoys, etc.) should have the Plast-X and the Invisible Glass, but plexus may be a little difficult to find. If you have trouble, try calling around to motorcycle shops. Motorcycle guys use it on their visors and windshields.
