For me it was at the Reunion Island, 200 km from Mauritus, the larvae of wasps fries (very very goooood!) as an appetizer with a drink in Ricard, if it is not cooked as good. I ate at the same location as the hedgehog in hot sauce is tastes like rabbit.
Magagascar then the tail of a crocodile, it tastes like veal. In Ivory Coast a rodent called the Agouti is like the beaver.

The last picture is a lazy animal that lives in the same country where Tarzan lived. I decided to go hunting a few times ...

Japanese uni (sea urchin gonads) is great stuff, but what on earth is "sea purple?"

    Is in this link :

    http://www.habitas.org.uk/marinelife/species.asp?item=ZD2400

This is a marine animal such as sea cucumber.
It is strongly iodized, it takes a little getting used to. It is eaten on a piece of buttered bread and it's really delicious.
If I could send you taste here, I'm sure you'd be a follower of this seafood.

Long ago I learned that the trick (for me) to eating in foreign countries was not to ask what a dish was if I liked it! Frequently I would be so grossed out that I wouldn't want to order it again. But let's see....

    Dog, braised with radishes (Korea)
Chicken sphincters (Korea, at a festival. And you thought funnel cakes were gross!)
    Whale and horse sashimi (Japan)
    Chicken-intestine yakitori (Japan)
    Bull testicles (Korea)
    Alligator on a stick (Louisiana)

My favorite weird food experience was at a high end seafood restaurant in Japan. As one of the early courses in a meal, we were presented with a square white bowl, full of salt. Resting on the salt was a round black rock, like a river stone. On top of the rock was what looked an awful lot like the entrails of a fish.

I poked at it with my chopsticks for a little bit, and the Japanese guy next to me leaned over and offered this friendly advice:

    "Don't eat rock".

Mine would have to be the following:

You split a banana in two. Then you mix a bit of Mayonnaise with a splash of Maraschino Cherry juice, and a little bit of sugar until it's a soft pale pink. Then you spoon the spread over the banana and top it with shredded Parmesan cheese.

    MMMMMM.....yumm.....delicious. :)

You'll be happy to learn that what Koreans call 똥 집 (pronounced "dōng chēb," meaning "poop house") are actually gizzards. Often Koreans will claim (and most even believe) that these are chicken sphincters, but they are not.

You guys are nuts! I made it through about 10 seconds of that octopus video before I felt like I was going to gag. I thought I had eaten some weird stuff before but this is a whole new level.

    snake stew.

It had the texture of steamed fish, complete with the little bones.
