I used to work with a guy that would soak thick slices of the stuff overnight in creme anglaise. He'd then make french toast out of it the next day, topping it with cinnamon that was woken up in brown butter and a touch of cayenne. It made crawling to work for early Sundays worthwhile.

I've had it, like Darf said...the french toast made out of it is incredible! It's very custard like.

Now I want some french toast! :(

    What you did there...

Love challa - basically Brioche in a twisted loaf.

french toast is good... but you can use Challa in a lot of ways

i like it for croutons & Garlic

Great for "toad in the hole " toast wiht egg in the center flipped over easy

makes great holder for escargot - thick slice - use pastry bag to cut out circles ...
toast in oven and place snails inside... top with lots of garlic butter....
and love it as plain toast! and nutella

My daughter bakes it all the time. Try cinnamon challah as well as chocolate chip. Amazing.
