I did a quick search and didn't find anything on these but sorry in advance if these have been previously discussed.

I was given one for Christmas yesterday and it looks like a really cool kitchen gadget but I don't even know where to begin with my first meal. Does anyone else have/use one? Whats it great at doing? Whats your favorite thing to make in it? Tips, tricks, bonuses?

    Thanks in advance!

When you search online the engine will search for instant cooker, but gives you the option to search for instacooker.
You will find more info that way! I did.

I did a quick search, and it seems to be awesome!

Slow cooker, pressure cooker, the lot! WOW! I need to look into getting one!

I appreciate the feedback. I've searched online but was curious to hear from my FChat brethren.

And I agree, it really does seem like the whole lot. Its really peaked my interest!

Well, I did not give you much of a feedback!

Basically, it is a self contained unit with a time, temperature and pressure control.

What you need to learn is a few basic adjustments, then fine tune.

Slow cooked casserole - after initial browning and boiling, I set my oven on about 80 C degrees, leave for 3 - 6 hours

I do not do much pressure cooking these days as I find the time gain for potatoes and such minimal, and am slow cooking more and more!

But that Machine has awoken an interest in me to do it again!

Hello Andrew...I believe from the "What's for Dinner?" thread that users Bubblesquah and Darth550 may have similar contraptions. So, maybe reach out to them via PM?

Look forward to seeing what comes outta your Insta cooker...T

Those look pretty cool. I've been thinking about a new crock pot so this might be ideal.

That sounds great. A couple hours for Kaluha pork versus many hours?? Genius. That pretty much makes up my mind. I'll be ordering an instapot shortly!! :)

Yeah it has turned out fantastic the several times we've done it. We simply eat it over rice that we cook in the rice cooker while the meat is going. If you have it, add a couple dabs of "Liquid Smoke" to the meat when you put it in the pot to turn it up a notch.

Once it's served, adding some "Louisiana" brand hot sauce to the plate takes it from a great meal to an epic meal.

Wife just got a new cookbook "Onepot Paleo" that she is excited about helping her figure out more things to do with the Instapot.

We still have the traditional crockpot, but if her Chili turns out just as good in the Instapot, then we will be chucking the crockpot.
